Spousal KITAS to KITAP conversion (also applicable for Spousal SosBud to KITAS).

Very good description @Jamu .

It might have changed since it was some time ago, but I have the feeling in Jakarta there has not been that much scrutiny. (One visit only, no letter from embassy, no 'work' questions, ...). Of course these things evolve.

As a follow up to my post number 120, once you get your Kitap, don't forget to go to your local Catatan Sipil to apply for your KTP-OA. There you will submit the required documents, in my case a new Surat Domisili (purpose of which states for 'KTP-OA'), an updated police report, my wife's original KK, a copy of her KTP, a copy of my passport and Kitap, a copy of our marriage certificate, the completed biodata form provided by the Catatan Sipil and three 3x4cm photographs on red background. Following collection of my biometric information (photograph, fingerprints, signature and iris scan), I was presented with my KTP-OA and my wife (as head of the family) received an updated KK which included me.

One of the reasons I ask that it seems the provision and printing of e-KTP for WNA (foreigners) is halted and delayed till after the elections.

It’s amazing, but the underlying argumentation is that there are rumors on social media that foreigners with a KTP OA will be allowed to vote. And to avoid risk of demonstrations or invalid voting they decided on this drastic action.

The thing that started all this is some administrative screwup in which it seems that on a KTP a Chinese National was switched with a local.

What morons. And my e-KTP was ready last Friday, but I did not pick it up yet.

I have a question regarding converting ITAS to ITAP. What about the passport expiry date? For instance, my passport is going to expire in 2022, so can I apply for ITAS (I'm currently on my 2nd ITAS) next year? Or does it need to have 5 years of expiry date?

Hopefully they will release it but it might be they thwart.

Got it today, but a paper one. Jakarta did not switch yet to e-KTP and still issues paper KTPs for foreigners.
E-KTPs are issued, that I know for now, in Depok and Bali.

It should not be an issue.

You want to apply for ITAP in 2020 right? No problem then.

For ITAS, being visa, there have always been very strict rules, namely the +6 months. So for a 6 month KITAS your passport required a remaining validity of 12 months. For a 12 month version, a validity of 18 months. Etc.

And KITAP falls outside of that whole definition. Now personally, I would renew my passport. Esp. since my country switched to a 10 year version, but also because I think it's bothersome to take the expired passport with the stamps with you when you go abroad, after you have gotten a new one anyway. But that's just me.

e-KTP yet? Or still the pathetic piece of ...?
Got the paper one as they said they had run out of blank cards, and was told to return in two weeks (after the Nyepi holiday) to pick up the plastic e-KTP OA.

This is accurate and was confirmed today at Catatan Sipil in Gianyar, Bali. I was told that I would be issued with the plastic e-KTP OA the week after the presidential election in April.

Update: Just received my plastic e-KTP from Capil, Gianyar Bali. Looks virtually identical to my Indonesian wife's e-KTP.

Ooh nice...something to look forward to, I still have the crappy paper one that is a joke.

Good. Now hopefully its quality is better than the e-KITAP; even with never taking it out of my wallet, the printed text has mostly vanished.

I've just done submitting my 3rd extension KITAS docs to Imigrasi Kelas 1. After reading conversion from ITAS to ITAP here, it seems there are more procedures. So I asked question to the officer at the counter who receives the docs for ITAS procession like: does it require online application like ITAS? Yes she said, and other than that? she said you need to legalize your Surat Laporan Perkawian at DUKCAPIL. I've never heard this legalized version from any forum, looks like a new rule. Has anyone applied ITAP this year? can share if there's anything new that we should be aware about? thanks

When I applied at Denpasar, Bali immigration last December there was no online procedure for conversion of a spouse sponsored itas to itap. Not sure if that has changed. In my case, an Indonesian buku nikah was sufficient, though for those with civil marriages performed outside Indonesia but registered here, I understand that legalization of the SLP is now required, at least by Denpasar immigration.

Hi, it's been more than a month since i last collected my passport for 3rd kitas application in Immi office Kelas 1 Jakarta Barat, my passport got stamped admit entry for 1 year and also I did my photo taken as well. But I stil haven't received ITAS online that normally sent via email. Tried calling their number, but no one picks up (as expected). Is there other method contacting them without going to their office? I moved to Tangerang due to my spouse's work relocation and it's quite far away, not to mention the traffic just to pop up there and inquire my ITAS online. Or probably someone is visiting the Immigration Office Jakarta Barat and help me asking my ITAS online status, i'll give my details in private message. Appreciate any help? Thanks in advance.

Did you actually do an online application? Beside your ITAS & Re-entry stamp in your passport, did you get an ITAS card?

That's all you need if you didn't do an online application.

Yes I did online application before submitting docs at the counter, and it is compulsory, they did ask for a copy of their reply via email. ITAS card is not issued anymore since last year, they will only send the ITAS via email for you to print out. This ITAS i've been waiting since Lebaran's holiday ended.
