New passport/kitap

Hello,
I just renewed my passport in my own country, and tried to update my Kitap with the new passport number online. The response was that they want me (sponsor) to go to the immigration office in Indonesia. So how I am supposed to cross the immigration at this point? I use a visa on arrival or try to explain the situation at the airport?
Any advice?

Here is an astounding astonishing idea, so simple you will wonder why you didn't think of it

When you land, you present BOTH passports and say this is my old one, this is my new one

Then later after you land you go to Immi and they just cancel it online and move it to the new one online, job done, takes seconds

In the old days they even stapled a bit of paper in there that said visa transferred from abc passport to xyz passport
I have one myself from 2020 or it could have been even 2024 I forget

Edit it was 11 Aug 2020 but anyway present both at the usual KITAP desk, you still have a valid active kitap it is just now in the new passport

BTW how did you enter and leave if your old passport was due to expire? You normally have to have 6-12 months remaining
