Government advisories about prepping seem to be all over news and social media, have any of you taken any measures other than living in Indonesia (haha) for survival for a few days in a SHTF situation?
I actually have experienced lots of SHTF days whilst here, mainly from power outages.
I think most people in Indonesia keep a stack of candles and a stock of Indomie, but how many of you would really struggle?

I find it all interesting, as online all that seems to pop up are comments from UK/USA about prepping and they just seem concerned with water and heat- not my anticipated problems for Indonesia.
Point of note, I am not talking going all in with bunkers and stashes of MREs, but how many of you have food security in the home for the next month ?

In Europe? Since 6 months ago.

In Indonesia? Since always.

The reason for the former is obviously triggered by the Ukraine war and it got amplified by the Iran situation. The latter is more straight forward: In a country where you can not rely on the supply of water and electricity and where shops are often not accessible (banjir, demonstrations, natural disasters, …) it would be smart to have stock for several weeks.

Not a bug out bag per-se but my daily "bag" has my passports and bank books, phone charger and some hotel notepads

Actually more for going to the bank than airport but also just in case you never know

I am always bemused by the aircraft prepping whihc says that in the event of an emergency leave all personal belongings behind. Geat idea. First thing I would grab is my wallet, passport and credit cards. I think these are personal belongins but buggered if I would leave them behind.
Then there is the Jetstar economy prepping with instructions how to brace yourself. Except that the seats are so tighly packed that you would find it difficult to take up the recommened bracing positon. How on earth people over six feet in height or over 12 or more stone manage to even sit for hours travelling let alone bracing is beyond me.

Don't cross your legs. Don't intertwine your fingers. Remove your Montblanc from your breast pocket. And glasses I forget about on or off.
