Any interview questions about religion or politics? Just curious.
I didn't have any like that.Any interview questions about religion or politics? Just curious.
They had a computer system problem when mine was in process so it took ages.Update on my citizenship application. After 3 weeks of submitting my application, my status has now changed to ""Sedang Diproses''.
Can anyone with experience or knowledge please tell me how long it takes from this stage for the SK to be issued.

Well done and congratulations.Yesterday, December 4, I got my SK. I want to say a very big thanks to everyone's contribution, which has really guided me from the beginning to this point. I will be heading to the embassy to finalize the renouncing of my "former" citizenship and go to the immigration office to return my documents.
Except the citizenship application process & fees have changed a little since the page 1 paragraph one of this thread Mr Park.Read page 1 paragraph 1
I suggest you read through the entire thread & make note of the dates when things change, so that you can keep as up to date as possible. We don't have members of the forum processing citizenship every week or month (unlike with many of the visas) therefore isn't the easiest thread to keep up to date. I would also advise you ask at immigration for a leaflet with the whole process printed on it.Could you give me the chain of advice please.

Hello, tell me please if you know where can I find information about timeframe for renunciation foreign citizenship? I need to know exactly because as I know in my embassy it's long process (6-12 months) and ppl said usually it takes 8 months or more, so I confused what happen if someone will lose Indonesian citizenship just because process or renunciation his foreign citizenship lasts longer than time limit in Indonesia? So in this case that person will have no citizenship at all and can't stay in Indonesia legally nor deportation to country of origin because her/she process of renunciation already started and can't be just cancelledIf one doesn't cancel the original citizenship within a set timeframe then the original citizenship becomes the legal one once again & all efforts have been wasted- I am unsure of the time frame - though I have 6 months poking about in the back of my head- I think I must have read that somewhere
The UK side of things doesn't have any time limits but the Indonesian side of things does..
Once I have this SK document I must go to the UK embassy & cancel my UK passport & get a letter to say so, then I must go through the procedure of renunciation of citizenship online with the Home Office. I have to show Indonesian authorities that I have cancelled my UK passport & I assume at some point once it is done that I have renounced my citizenship. -less sure of that procedure at this stage.

Give up (renounce) British citizenship or nationality
Apply to give up (renounce) your British citizenship or status - ‘declaration of renunciation’www.gov.uk
A friend told me there were rumblings that RI is considering dual citizenship matters again. - Oh if only that were true it would save me a chunk of cash in these trying times.

I don't think these questions are really relevant to the questions asked, because if the person is in process of making RI citizenship they have already dealt with all of the above. From who to what? Can you be more specific?
You are from where? You want to become Indonesian? How?

What the OP wants to be assured about is that they will not become a stateless person.
Which is highly unlikely (if not impossible) if they follow procedures- even taking into consideration that some countries have long slow processes.
Indonesia is pretty clear that it will not tolerate dual citizenship so it will want to see some sort of evidence that the process is happening or has happened IF there is some question about the subject's legal status.
If the process has not even been instigated (such as those who think they can get away with not renouncing & illegally keeping both citizenships) RI will revoke the Indonesian status.
If the OP is in the actual process of removing the original citizenship then they have a very good case to argue in law to retain the RI status.
At some point the origin country will send official notification that the original citizenship has been officially renounced (I believe I was notified almost a year afterwards).
I had my RI citizenship for several years now and nobody has come knocking or checking yet (that I know of) - but I guess it is something they could check online these days.
So the advice has to be - just follow the steps set out for the procedures set out.
But they were specifically asking about renouncing foreign c/ship, which is not possible unless they have already got the Indonesian c/ship cos they have to send a copy of the certificate- in the post that they quoted me, they didn't ask how to become an Indonesian citizenWell it is because if they are Dutch then the process maybe is easier and more likely to have someone here done it rather than from Nigeria or Syria or America where it's gonna be more complikasi
Plus how do they want to become WNI ? I mean you can't just do it. You have to have lived here long time / marriage / etc etc or were they WNI before and now rejoining the fraternity after being awol for years as a European?
Or how about age? Dual citizenship etc ?
Also I'm just kepo
