Finally got my ITAP + 2 Yrs MERP completed via husband sponsor. Residence of Kabupaten Tangerang - Banten province.

Imigrasi Kelas I Tangerang :Jalan Taman Makam Pahlawan Taruna No.10, Sukasari, Kecamatan Tangerang, Sukasari, Kec. Tangerang, Kota Tangerang, Banten 15118, Indonesia.

KemMenkum HAM Banten (KanWil): KH. D, Jalan Brigjen Syamun No.44, Kotabaru, Kecamatan Serang, Kotabaru, Kec. Serang, Kota Serang, Banten 42112, Indonesia

Dirjen Imigrasi: Sentra Mulia, Jl. H. R. Rasuna Said No.Kav X-6, 8, RT.16/RW.4, Kuningan, Karet Kuningan, Kecamatan Setiabudi, Kota Jakarta Selatan, DKIJakarta 12940, Indonesia



1. First visit 7/8/2018 @ Imigrasi Kelas I Tangerang. Obtained perdim 25,26,27

2. Second visit 7/8/2018. @ Imigrasi Kelas I Tangerang. Dropped all the necessary documents. Got a receipt for the ITAS to ITAP conversion.

3. Third visit 20/8/2018 @ Home Visit by Immigration Office. 2-3 questions along with few photos of two of us, the street address and house number.

4. Fourth visit 24/8/2018 @ Imigrasi Kelas I Tangerang. For Biometric and photo.

5. Fifth visit 27/8/2018 @ Imigrasi Kelas I Tangerang. To pickup 2 brown envelopes (for KanWil and Dirjen Imigrasi).

6. Sixth visit 28/8/2018 @ KemMenkum HAM Banten (KanWil). Dropped brown envelop (for KanWil) and waited 2 hours to get the recommendation letter for Dirjen Imigrasi.

7. Seventh visit 29/8/2018 @ Dirjen Imigrasi. Dropped the recommendation letter from KemMenkum HAM Banten and the last brown envelope (for Dirjen). Handed to security and got a receipt. Told to come back after 5 working days.

8. Eighth visit 4/9/2018 @ Dirjen Imigrasi. To pickup final approval letter.

9. Ninth visit 4/9/2018 @ Imigrasi Kelas I Tangerang. Dropped the final approval letter then asked to get it notarized at the 2nd floor, pay the application fee @ BRI (in the same building) and told that the KITAP will be ready in 3 days after 2 PM.

10. Tenth visit 10/9/2018 @ Imigrasi Kelas I Tangerang. Finally handed the passport with KITAP and MERP stamped along with E-KITAP card. Make sure to check the name and expiry date before leaving the immigration.


Note: I was not required to be there on every visit except the second and fourth Visit.


Total fee Rp 5.505.000 + 2 Materai + high level of patience.

Maksud Kedatangan/Tujuan : PENYATUAN KELUARGA
Indeks : 317
Lokasi Perwakilan RI untuk pengambilan VISA : HONGKONG
Jangka waktu tinggal sampai dengan : 06-09-2019

(Our first submission was failed and we revised it)
And we redecived this message :

"
Tidak dapat kami setujui dengan alasan sebagai berikut:

HARAP MEMILIH KATEGORI DOKUMEN TAMBAHAN UNTUK YANG MENIKAH DENGAN WARGA NEGARA INDONESIA."

I think requiring something different category but we do not understand which kategory and where?

Please help us, how we can correct it?

This specific part says to "choose the category of additional document for those married to WNI". So I'm guessing this means some of your documents were missing or not accepted?

Can you go back to your application on the immigration website and check which documents they are not happy with?

I allready check it, but I did not see anything about documents which is rejected or not accepted.
We submitted :
My Passport cover and Identity pages
Sponsors Guarantee letters with duty stamp (each 6000 Rupiah stamped)
Marriage certificate original and submitted copy of consulate (which consulate general provided to us) Because we married here at hong kong
Sponsors ID
Sponsors Account statement (HK BANK ACC but under her name and there are enough amount)

Also submitted sponsors KITAP, KK, BIRTH CERT

So what we missing?

Good news: My wife went to the West Jakarta immigration office and they said ll the paper work was correct and in order.

Bad news: We applied 30 days too early. They said we could apply 60 days before my kitas expires.

So if I understand you right, you are only recently married.

For the KITAP, you have to be married for 2 or more years. You should apply first for a KITAS.

As for where you registered your marriage, I think you need to also register it here in Indonesia.

KITAS is a one year visa which comes in two ways: one through your employer or two which will apply to you, the spouse.

What are the documents they require in this window?

Actually just remembered, did you include a letter from your embassy that your marriage has been registered with your home country? This is also something they ask for.

Yes allready, and finally I got approval and they request to pay 100 000 rupiah.

Be honest, at the first stage, I did not changed anything about submission. They rejected few times but now approved with the same documents. But anyhow, finally approwed.

Re the bad news, this sounds like nonsense.... so long as you have been married for at least two years you can apply for kitap literally the day after you receive kitas...

Because I learned that the new law of immigration not required 2 years limitation. And new KITAS also allows for work

Well...if you read the law what I said is correct. In addition, members of this forum have successfully applied for (and ultimately received) Kitap immediately upon receiving their spouse sponsored Kitas, so there is no 'waiting period' after receiving Kitas provided one has been married for at least two years.
