I'm Irish and this woman should not be trusted in regards to anything about Russia (or honesty anything really). We have a habit of voting for mad left-wing MEPs and she fits the bill completely. She is not necessarily corrupt - but she is nuts. She will certainly lose her MEP seat at the next election after all her high jinks (and that was before any of this Russian crap)

Exactly.
Stand alone comments, speeches etc are never very good as evidence for a balanced view.
Context & bias is always a factor to be taken into consideration to form a credible, objective opinion.

Glad to know that America doesn’t have a monopoly on crazy politicians. I’m not listing their names, lest Dave will post a video of them here. While they were elected and technically represent their area, they don’t represent the majority opinion in the country. Not by a long stretch.

Richard is also on the fringe and far left. They are not corrupt, they just really hold niche views and you need to consider their talking points with the knowledge of their personal and political agendas.
Clare originally started in the Irish labour party but was expelled in the 80s for Trotskyist antics and she's been hanging around the far left since then. She has got herself into all sorts of messes with another Irish MEP called Mick Wallace.

It's from last year (so before Ukraine invasion) - and clearly shows that they have been overtly influenced to side with the Russians for some time (and indeed some questionable regimes around the world).

Richard BB is a member of the People Before Profit party (very socialist and small - has 5 out of 160 seats in our parliament). I generally like him BUT both he and Clare sometimes fall into the "where far-right meets far-left" views - esp regarding NATO and Russia.

Voting in Ireland is not like in the UK - we don't have FFTP so we end up with a very interesting mix of political views in our parliaments (and this is also the case for the MEPs).

I grew up there. And I'm familiar with attitudes in Eastern Europe.
You can look to the rest of the country too for examples of previous institutionalized racism. Racial attitudes in the US have improved considerably overall in the last 50 years.
