Trumponomics

First off, that crap about trump being the first president to identify and do something about miss spending is a laugh. No, trump raped entire agencies, then gave a few examples of miss spending of which the majority have been proven to be untrue. You don't fix the flat tire by pushing the car off the cliff.

DEI was developed to make America look like America's population. While there were anti discrimination rules in place before that the agencies in charge had no power. Just because one white guy feels he was slighted by the policy doesn't mean all white guys were slighted. Doesn't DEI mainly pertain to businesses that have contracts with the government and for education applications? The garage down the street who has 8 employees probably doesn't know what DEI means and just wants to hire the best person for the job. Who has a wife here that has ever worked? Then she was a DEI hire I guess. Yes, women are considered a minority. Come to think of it, white guys who marry a woman, marry a minority. Guess they are going to hell.

Wow, that's a pretty aggressive comment. I don't understand what you're trying to say. Yes there was the Affirmative act, passed a long time before Trump was even in the news. I had never heard of DEI before He became President again. So, as you see it's new to me also. Why are you insulting guys who marry a woman? Hiring a woman thats qualified for a job seems normal to me. Why would you say a man that gets married is going to hell?
Why does this subject make so many people speak so harshly, and aggressively?
The forum is a place to speak about a subject with the freedom to have your own opinion. It is like a debate. You can have a different opinion from others, and thats OK.
A person doesn't have to insult someone else because they have a different opinion!
Let's just focus on the subject. Trumponomics! Do you think Trump allowing Elon Musk invade the Government, and see everyones information, and possibly affect Veteran's benefits, or old people on social security, or poor children's next meal, meals on wheels, and saying he wants to buy Greenland, Gaza, and take the Panama canal from the Panamanian people, is a good action by a President.?
Please, I ask you to comment about this subject in a more open minded objective way, if you can, and everyone else too. This is not a battle field, and we are not at war!

The Associated Press (AP) seem to report otherwise:

Allegedly only the grant to Grupa Izadji (Serbian organization) was awarded by USAID, the rest being awarded by the State Department’s Office of the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs... Still tax payer money but I think that Politics should be particularly careful and precise when blaming an organization or a person.
I have no clue if the aid agency is/was "a criminal organization" or if "USAID's spending IS TOTALLY UNEXPLAINABLE" (Trump/Musk words) but it never ceases to amaze me how Trump is often able to throw unverified information and lies, get away with it and having it repeated with no effort of verifying it.
I am not a US citizen and have no dog in the fight but I think that verifying if the money has been indeed spent by USaid or the programs listed are any of USaid concerns or the Office of the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs is not something difficult to clarify.
D
That first quote by Ruserious seems really far fetched to me and something The Trump administration would spread like peanut butter to keep promoting his Physcobabble, which is senseless words, and lies, that he dribbles out continuously. This has been going on so long now, it's become normal. I wish that when he is giving a press conference, and he lies, that someone from the press would show a live feed on a screen of him saying the lie previously. Then he couldn't deny he said it and lie some more!
OK, then have an unbiased committee analyze and clarify USaid to see if there is malpractice, then clean it up and get rid of the wastefulness. But once thats done, then let the group continue providing food and medicine to the needy.

Greenland and Gaza are hyperbole to increase his bargaining power with others. He has just said out loud what other presidents said behind closed doors. As far as the Panama Canal, the government did just basically give it away and got a very bad deal in the process. Is that something that can be renegotiated? Because that it what he is looking for. The US government is paying the same as everyone else to use a canal it built, owned and then put under foreign management. Seems like getting a better deal would be fair.

The budget needs to be balanced and that is not going to happen unless somethings are cut and others expanded. The government is 36 trillion in debt and no president since Clinton has had a balanced budget much less a surplus. Do we just want to leave that debt hanging for our children's children to take care of? Sooner or later it will have to be settled. Why not start now?

An excellent idea! My greatest fear, is while all these cuts are being made, that it is not just a ruse of some kind for Trump to enrich himself, his family, and all his cronies, while the average people have to tighten their belts! 💰

Wouldn't be any different than any other politician. Even lowly house members leave office multi millionaires. Also of note for Trump's policies so far, cutting down on illegal immigrants is having very fast results. Hospitals that have been overwhelmed in the past are now having empty waiting rooms. How much did all that cost taxpayers in funds as well as higher insurance rates for citizens. You may not like Trump but so far he is getting results and rather quickly I might add.

Get over it. The message stands.

Georgian PM alleges US Embassy, USAID, NED acting in “coordinated manner” against his country

Tulsi Gabbard evokes the CIA’s Timber Sycamore (regime change) program

You could add Kiev Maydan events, with Victoria Nullen at the helm.
And yes, indirectly Al Quaidi is a creation of CIA who trained "good Mujahidin" against the Soviets.

I still am cautious, and think that whatever he does, is really not for the benefit of the People, or America! 🙏😈

It's been a long time since we disagreed. I forgot how much fun it was. Keep on being you. We are too old to beat around the bush.
Some don't understand that bitter and aggressive is generally a targeted trait. We both know we will never agree on any trump action. OK, I agree there is a definite Immigration problem but not so much about the improvement methods.

Really the only thing we can do is speculate until the ride is over and then see where the chips fell. I'm sure both us will win some and lose some. I'm optimistic that good things will happen even though it may not be his intention. So far though, I have to admit that I support him more than I oppose him but that is subject to change by the hour.

A lot of excited debate in Australia with the announcement of tariffs on steel and aluminium. It is said the Prime Minister must be strong in seeking to have Australia exempt from these tariffs. We have just given the Americans $800 million as a kind of down payment on buying nuclear submarines. Desperate to curry favour we have followed the Americans into wars in Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan. We are committed to buying $7 billion worth of missiles. We have allowed the Americans to build a spy base at Pine Gap in Central Australia and a massive "secret" submarine base at Exmouth Gulf in Western Australia. We allow American military exercises in the Northern Territory. We have long established trade links. Surely the Americans know we are mates and will give us preferential treatment?

We import about $30 billion a year of American products. All very well but Japan imported about $85 billion worth of American goods last year. If America were to let us off the tariff hook for aluminium and steel then the Japanese will be mightily offended if they get slugged with the new tariffs. Trump sits there, weighs $30 billion in one hand and $85 billion in the other????

When it comes down to it, you don't let a friend screw you just because you are friends (OK Maybe some do). Not saying that is the case here but it will definitely be on Trump's mind and he does't value friendship at all. I get it to an extent as well. 36 trillion in debt and still doing friends favors? Let everyone pay a fair price.

I guess it's good you at least support one power. I just can't support any of them. It's a damned if you do or damned if you don't government and even trump won't change that aspect. Make it worse in all likelyhood but still there. I decided to retire early and move to Indonesia right before Obama's second election win. I was tired of groups like the Tea Party dictating to and being listened to by my Republican party. That Republican party that seems to be easy pickings for any far right group, (maga now) to take over. The Dems were weak. As I have said before, complain on TV and then go sit in an office. Today, while there are moderate Dems, every time anyone wants to flush the progressive Dem minority they get caught in the downward vortex. There is no government, only a clown show. On one side the happy faced clowns who laugh and giggle and then squirt you in the eyes with emptiness. On the other side the clowns that look mean and intimidating but are actually mice who are trained to follow the path put before them to be rewarded or at least not denied the rotted cheese their handler hands out after taking it away from the audiences.

Is there a fix. Possibly but as the handlers run rampant, unchecked in their actions the time will come where it is just broke and ready for the scrap yard. But, not to worry. The swamp is big and the mushy puss that forms it will hide it away and it just becomes a memory.

Very well said, I agree this two party system sucks Red Butt! Clown on the left of me, Clowns on the right, here I am Stuck in the middle with you!
But in the end your comment left us in limbo? What to do?

You still seem to have this illusion that Don-Old is out to do something good for everyone. He is only looking out for himself, and wants to go down in history as,
The Greatest Human ever Existed! Ta Dahh!

How sad to hear about Australia buying War machines, and more Bombs! Spy bases? Where's 007 when we need him? To me it sounds like the government was buying and doing all the wrong things. Supporting War and Death Machines! Why not equipment for food production, clean energy, medicine produced cheaply for the world!

Australia has long been in fear of the "yellow peril". The white Australia policy continued into the late 60s and early 70s. (Happily race is no longer an immigration issue.) Australia has long felt isolated. In the late 1870s the big fear was that the Russians were going to invade. An iron, semi submersible, steam war ship was built in England and painfully made its way south. When it arrived at the heads off Port Phillip Bay near Melbourne it caused a panic by firing a shot to herald its arrival. People headed for the hills. The ship never fired a shot in anger.

Australia continued clinging to Britain and fighting in its wars until WW2 when Britain did not want to release Australian soldiers from Europe as Japan entered the war, Australia then turned to the US and has clung desperately ever since to the coat tails of the US for protection. Much or our military hardware has been purchased from the US to maintain that protective relationship.
