Does anyone successfully apply for 2nd Home Visa?
I've been back and forth between US-Indo every two months over the whole year and am kind of tired of paying the VoA fee. Since my KITAP expired, I am thinking of getting new KITAS until I came up with this type of visa but not sure if the requirements have been finalized. From the DirJen Imigrasi site stated:

Second Home Visa applications for five and ten years are submitted via Online Visa Approval with the following requirements.

A proof of fund in the form of an account owned by the Foreign Nationals or the Sponsor with a value of at least 2,000,000,000 IDR (two billion rupiahs) or equivalent - is these funds must be in an Indonesian bank? or can it be an overseas bank? I saw some articles stating that I must be in either BRI, BNI, or Mandiri, and upon checking Mandiri, in order to open an account I must have a Passport + KITAS. How can I get an account if I am looking for KITAS (lol)

There is already a discussion about this in this thread

This isn't merely any bank in Indonesia; it must be a government-owned Indonesian bank. BRI, BNI, Mandiri Bank are state owned banks.. The others are BTN, Syariah Bank. It's unclear whether it could be a saving bond or a deposit guarantee schemes earning no interest.

Everyone has their own preferences, but study this discussions and make sure that is what you really want to do.

Opening a bank account without Kitas wouldnot be a problem, I read a similar post in FB. But when you want to invest your money in bank product like deposits, you need a NPWP, tax number.

... it seems the important point is confirming exactly how Immigration wants the IDR 2 billion proof of funds ... did you open the Indonesian bank account before applying ...
According to https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/visa-selection, you have 90 days after entering Indonesia to put US$ 130,000 (not Rp2 billion) in a state-owned bank .
was a regular savings account sufficient, or did Immigration require the funds to be placed in a particular type of deposit or investment?
This is not informed in the above mentioned website . I guess it may be invested in any of the bank's available investment products , but better you ask Immigration directly (see how at https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/front/info/contact-us) .

You realize that’s an advertisement by a bot?
No , but it doesn't matter to me .

If I can , I will try to do my best in answering any reasonable question , as it may be useful , if not now , probably in the future .

I got one. It was shockingly easy, I used flavo to apply for it and it took a week or two. I had to go to Jakarta to do the proof of funds and I relied on my partner (now my amazing wife) to talk to the officials but it wasn’t hard. I had an issue when an immigration official stamped my password wrong and had to sort it out but the visa has been straightforward.

I’m now deciding whether to keep it for another 9 months, apply for KITAP and then switch that to spouse sponsored or switch the KITAS now, wait a year, then get KITAP.

There are plenty of immigration horror stories and perhaps my luck will run out but thus far I have found immigration here to be very fair if occasionally a little ponderous.

In your situation I would not do anything (until near the end of your 5 years KITAS) unless you want to withdraw your 'frozen' investment or work informally (assuming your wife is Indonesian) .

Complementing/revising my post no.2 at https://www.expatindo.org/community/threads/change-visa-kitas-after-marriage.8263/ :
To change from 'Second Home' to 'Indonesian Spouse' I would ask your Kantor Imigrasi if you should select "Change of Guarantor" or "Change Activity to ITAS Indonesian Spouse" (I think this second option is more appropriate) .

Another thing I am not sure is if now (online) you will get a new KITAS (meaning you pay for it + expiry date changes accordingly) or your KITAS continues as before except the change of sponsor & the "type" of the KITAS (meaning you pay only a small fee for 'data change' and expiry date doesn't change) .

I am not aware of any "horror story", can you tell us ?
