Roads in Indonesia can definitely be very frustrating. Besides the obvious traffic i cant stand:
1. Motorcycles not following the rules or trying to squeeze into small gaps and scratching cars.
2. Buses stopping wherever they want, blocking traffic
3. Cars or bikes without lights at night (why cant police just take them off the road or "fine" them out of existence?)
4. Priority seems to be given for funerals but not normal ambulances (wtf?)
5. Cars (and even bikes) with fake police lights or police/military guys using their lights to get through traffic for no reason.
Losing the plot doesn't help though and I'm sure if the guy from Vietnam had tried that in Indo the other motorcyclists would have ganged up against him
Let’s continue this:
6. Angkots stopping wherever they please.
7. Motorbikes going against traffic.
8. Reversing on jl tol to take the exit they missed.
9. Stopping right in front of the exit road of a building/parking area or within 1 meter from it preventing you to get on the road to let out passengers, who take longer to get out of the car then my 90 year old grandma taking a shit.
10. People with not enough money on their e-tol cards in a e-toll only lane.
11. Unnecessary slow driving on general roads.
12. Unnecessary slow driving in the fast lane.
13. Private cars using the emergency lane in traffic.
14. Guys on the road demanding a tip to help you make a u-turn when you don’t even need their help.
15. Guys on the road enabling cars making illegal u-turns creating unnecessary traffic due to the specific road situation in that area when there’s a legal one 500 meters down the road.
16. Wrongly/too heavy loaded trucks who can’t make it up a small incline faster then 10 km/h on a toll road.
17. Having to pay for toll roads in a disasterous state/feeling like being in a rollercoaster (JORR around the Puri area is a prime example).
18. Motorbikes that force their way passed over your shoulder when you try to take a left turn.
19. (Egoistic) drivers who don’t give way on an intersection where their road is in traffic where as your way would’ve been clear we’re it not for them blocking you.
20. Having to pay 2rb to pick-up your food from a restaurant for 3 minutes.
21. Getting called monyet, babi or anjing when you pay 2rb but the parking guy tries to rip you off for 5rb.
22. Drivers who start honking their horn within 0.01 seconds of the traffic light turning green.
23. Motorbikes taking a sudden right turn with their indicator lights indicating a left turn.
24. Entire families stacked on one motorbike, nobody wearing a helmet, driving way too fast.
25. Underaged and helmetless motorbike drivers passing traffic cops without any repercussion.
