Thanks. What is the name of your insurance: Classic Plus, Essential Plus or Elite Plus? I already have an agent. She gave me a quote, but I am hesitating, because I read negative reviews about not paying back the money after hospitalization and sending in the bills. Direct billing sounds easier. So did you get to pay some part of the medical bill afterwards or not? Another question: did you have a waiting period before full coverage? And did you need to do a medical check up first before Allianz exepted you?I have allianz. Excellent coverage. Covers covid. Direct billing. And most important my agent has fantastic customer service. She's always online available to help her clients. I know she even sometimes goes to the hospital to help them with admin etc. Even though she doesn't need to.
So yes. Allianz is one of the best.
But. Also you need a good agent who is not going to desert you once she's been paid.
If you want my agent's number I can supply it
She speaks excellent English
I'm pushing 50 and my premium is about $100 a month for full coverage vip room etc etc
How do they know you have no pre-existing conditions if you don't have a medical check? No medical required for me because no pre existing conditions
you see thats down to your agent, not the company, customer service is what counts more, thats why we go to the same bars and restaurants and hair salons all the time (example)I had a negative experience with allianz customer service , they were unprofesional and uncaring compared to the likes of bupa , and they didnt give a sh1t ,when I needed . also too many low limits compared to a "real" international company .
So ya I would not reccomend .
Luckily I had bpjs , which saved my ugly ass !

I had a backpackers insurance here around 15 years ago ,cheap with an upper limit of 500 k Pounds , whichever Allianz policy here doesnt come close .you see thats down to your agent, not the company, customer service is what counts more, thats why we go to the same bars and restaurants and hair salons all the time (example)
have a good agent and you don't need to do anything, they should help you
what low limits? why did you take that policy if you were unhappy or sold the wrong one?
You can choose the limits on some of the plans
Many people can't grasp this idea....'waste of money' (but then again, maybe they don't have that money in the first place......but damn it gotta have at least SOME insurance...BPJS...even class 3...something!). So many uneducated ones stop paying the 'premi' and let the insurance expires. It's actually quite amazing I hear that some people can actually still use BPJS benefits after they pay the outstanding balance to reactivate it (longest I heard was 14 months)...maybe their mindset is they can always depend on somebody to help out ('viral posts...help donate', family, friends, borrow from the company, etc). Frustrating. You won't go bankrupt having it
But you could go bankrupt not having it
Customer services is eactly what it says, after you bought the policy from the agent or local office of allianz , if you need help ya you might contact the agent or the 24/7 customer help line { totally useless in my experience } , the agent could be on holiday, sick, left the company ,dead . so ya you need a professional ,helpful customer services .I don't understand?
You buy your insurance from your own dedicated agent who then looks after you
Not some random person
You meet with them, discuss what you need, look at proposals and prices and what's included etc. Then you fill in the KYC and due diligence and medical questions
It goes off for approval
You pay the premium. Then you're covered. Then that person is your dedicated agent.
At least that's what I did
Interesting information, thanks. I am not familiar with these international insurances. I ask my agent about the premium, if it will increase much every year. Then she mentioned also something about insurance package with or without unit link. But I did not understand this. What is a unit link? Can you or some one else explain this to me in simple English. My English is not that good when it becomes too "technical". And would an unit link be beneficial or notGot me Prudential. Wife's friend is the agent, so yeah...like snpark said, who the agent is, matters. Wife's friend even came and accompanied us when wife had to stay at the hosp overnight..even brought snacks for me.
Got me covered too when i had to stay for three days. When I was in the first/urgent care, wife told the admissions that we'd like a VIP room, same like the one her mom used a while back, since we're covered for the VIP level. Now......one small tiny thing we missed was, the semi-fine print says they'll cover the VIP based on Pru's database/average of what the VIP should be...and that VIP that wife picked was at a higher price, so I ended up got covered only about 70% since I went over the coverage rate, but not too bad still.
I read so many horror stories of people saying they got ripped of by the unit link...and paying such and such money, they say they calculated how much they should be getting after some years, then when they collected the investment part they were disappointed. Not sure if they miscalculated, didn't understand what the monthly payment was for, or the agent didn't properly educate them...they treat insurance as 'investment' instead of...well, insurance.
