Long overstay, wanting to exit. Best course of action?

The government fee for overstay over 60 days is 25 million. Pay the fee and go out.

Misinformation. The fee is 25.000.000 rp. You can check the law.

You don't think foreign governments have checked the law? This same information is posted on other countries' government website too, I just posted this particular one because English is the spoken language here.

Now it's up to you to provide a link with your very different information. I have checked what I can find out about this law, included the Indonesian immigration, and my own embassy here.

There is an old text saying you may be fined up to 500 million rupiah, or being imprisoned for up to 5 years, but there is no specific fine for longer overstay, as a rule, or law.

UK embassy is not of some use and they are well known for that.

If you surrender yourself, you will be shortly detained and deported. You will be asked to pay fine of 25.000.000- article 116, because you cannot present any valid stay permit-article 71, as well to buy yourself a ticket. Failing to do so will result in putting you back to the detention.

Law on Immigration No 6/2011. You can google the English version.

You are referring to a different law.

Here is a confirmation of that law, which is used regarding Indonesian companies with illegal workers.

Here is the link (scroll doen a little):

"The law below is primarily used against Indonesian companies illegally hiring foreigners as in those cases the intent is very clear.

Relevant regulation: Pasal 124 UU 6/2011

Setiap orang yang dengan sengaja menyembunyikan atau melindungi atau memberi pemondokan atau memberikan penghidupan atau memberikan pekerjaan kepada Orang Asing yang diketahui atau patut diduga:
a. berada di Wilayah Indonesia secara tidak sah dipidana dengan pidana penjara paling lama 2 (dua) tahun dan/atau pidana denda paling banyak Rp200.000.000,00 (dua ratus juta rupiah);
b. Izin Tinggalnya habis berlaku dipidana dengan pidana kurungan paling lama 3 (tiga) bulan atau pidana denda paling banyak Rp25.000.000,00 (dua puluh lima juta rupiah)."

A lot of useful information in this link btw.

Btw, as I said, UK is just one of many governments info on this matter.

You can find the law and look for yourself. If you do not have a valid stay permit(your case) penalty is 25 million. Article 116 and 71. Law 6/2011.

I just explained to you who this law is for. It's not for expats whose only violation is overstay.
I just copied it for you.

The law you're referring to is even made before the fee increased to 1 mill per day.

Looks like your case

Article 116

Again, it does not seem you understand this law you are reading. The fine is valid if you fail to comply with showing what they ask for in article 71. Not if you surrender yourself, and your case is about overstay only.

Try to read the law carefully, and let it sink in. I'm not trying to be rude here, you have just misunderstood these specific articles.

Than you have nothing to worry about.

Oh, you think this is going to be just a Walk in the Park. That you will just pay a Fine. Eat gourmet meals by candlelight, listen to live soft violin music, Stay at the Bali Continental Hotel, for your detention, Then complimentary Fly you, First class on Singapore Air Home.
Hah, they are going to be very diabolical and strap you to a chair, with bright lights overhead, then tape your eyelids open, so you can't close them. Then they will play AC/DC at eardrum bursting levels. For days. Then they will insert Bamboo slivers under your finger nails, until the pain is Sooo insufferable you'll tell them where you hid the Gold!
Oh Sorry, Relax, That was just a scenario from an Old Jackie Chan Movie!
Good Luck! 🤪👍🥳🙏🍄
😂😂😂
Thanks!

Rp60 million, as it was increased a few years ago to Rp1 million per day, with a maximum limit of Rp60 million payable at the airport before departure.

More than 60 days might be considered as a crime and could lead to detention or even a jail term. Keep in mind immigration detention centre is not a jail. To become a crime the case will need to be decided by the court.
