With 15 years in Thailand, do you speak Thai?
Yes, fluently. I decided to try living in other countries when my wife and I split up though. First Malaysia, then Indonesia. With 15 years in Thailand, do you speak Thai?
Will Andre be able to cover that fee?The government fee for overstay over 60 days is 25 million. Pay the fee and go out.
There is no such fee as far as I know. The government fee for overstay over 60 days is 25 million. Pay the fee and go out.
Here is the official UK government's link for proceedings with overstay over 60 days in Indonesia, posted January 2025:The government fee for overstay over 60 days is 25 million. Pay the fee and go out.
Misinformation. The fee is 25.000.000 rp. You can check the law. Here is the official UK government's link for proceedings with overstay over 60 days in Indonesia, posted January 2025:

Advice for British nationals who have illegally overstayed their Indonesia visa. Includes information on fines, detention, deportation and how to get help.www.gov.uk
You don't think foreign governments have checked the law? This same information is posted on other countries' government website too, I just posted this particular one because English is the spoken language here.Misinformation. The fee is 25.000.000 rp. You can check the law.
In about a month, if I'm not caught before then of course. When are you going to turn yourself in?![]()
UK embassy is not of some use and they are well known for that. You don't think foreign governments have checked the law? This same information is posted on other countries' government website too, I just posted this particular one because English is the spoken language here.
Now it's up to you to provide a link with your very different information. I have checked what I can find out about this law, included the Indonesian immigration, and my own embassy here.
There is an old text saying you may be fined up to 500 million rupiah, or being imprisoned for up to 5 years, but there is no specific fine for longer overstay, as a rule, or law.
You are referring to a different law.UK embassy is not of some use and they are well known for that.
If you surrender yourself, you will be shortly detained and deported. You will be asked to pay fine of 25.000.000- article 116, because you cannot present any valid stay permit-article 71, as well to buy yourself a ticket. Failing to do so will result in putting you back to the detention.
Law on Immigration No 6/2011. You can google the English version.
You can find the law and look for yourself. If you do not have a valid stay permit(your case) penalty is 25 million. Article 116 and 71. Law 6/2011.You are referring to a different law.
Here is a confirmation of that law, which is regarding Indonesian companies with illegal workers.
Here is the link (scroll doen a little):
Overstaying your Visa in Indonesia
www.expat.or.id
"The law below is primarily used against Indonesian companies illegally hiring foreigners as in those cases the intent is very clear.
Relevant regulation: Pasal 124 UU 6/2011
Setiap orang yang dengan sengaja menyembunyikan atau melindungi atau memberi pemondokan atau memberikan penghidupan atau memberikan pekerjaan kepada Orang Asing yang diketahui atau patut diduga:
a. berada di Wilayah Indonesia secara tidak sah dipidana dengan pidana penjara paling lama 2 (dua) tahun dan/atau pidana denda paling banyak Rp200.000.000,00 (dua ratus juta rupiah);
b. Izin Tinggalnya habis berlaku dipidana dengan pidana kurungan paling lama 3 (tiga) bulan atau pidana denda paling banyak Rp25.000.000,00 (dua puluh lima juta rupiah)."
A lot of useful information in this link btw..
I just explained to you who this law is for. It's not for expats whose only violation is overstay. You can find the law and look for yourself. If you do not have a valid stay permit(your case) penalty is 25 million. Article 116 and 71. Law 6/2011.
I just explained to you who this law is for. It's not for expats whose only violation is overstay.
I just copied it for you.
Again, it does not seem you understand this law you are reading. The fine is valid if you fail to comply with showing what they ask for in article 71. Not if you surrender yourself, and your case is about overstay only.Looks like your case
Article 71
Every Foreigner who is present in the Indonesian Territory shall be obliged to:
a. Provides all information required concerning personal identity and/or his/her families identity and report every change of civil status, citizenship, occupation, Guarantor, or change of address to local Office of Immigration; or
b. Show and submit any Travel Document or Stay Permit owned when required by the Immigration Officer on duty in the interest of Immigration control.
Article 116
Every Foreigner who undertakes no obligation ascontemplated in Article 71 shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 3 (three) months or fine sentence at the maximum of Rp25,000,000,00 (twenty five million Rupiah).
Than you have nothing to worry about.Again, it does not seem you understand this law you are reading. The fine is valid if you fail to comply with showing what they ask for in article 71. Not if you surrender yourself, and your case is about overstay only.
Try to read the law carefully, and let it sink in. I'm not trying to be rude here, you have just misunderstood these specific articles.
I hope notThan you have nothing to worry about.
Oh, you think this is going to be just a Walk in the Park. That you will just pay a Fine. Eat gourmet meals by candlelight, listen to live soft violin music, Stay at the Bali Continental Hotel, for your detention, Then complimentary Fly you, First class on Singapore Air Home.
Hah, they are going to be very diabolical and strap you to a chair, with bright lights overhead, then tape your eyelids open, so you can't close them. Then they will play AC/DC at eardrum bursting levels. For days. Then they will insert Bamboo slivers under your finger nails, until the pain is Sooo insufferable you'll tell them where you hid the Gold!
Oh Sorry, Relax, That was just a scenario from an Old Jackie Chan Movie!
Good Luck!![]()
Rp60 million, as it was increased a few years ago to Rp1 million per day, with a maximum limit of Rp60 million payable at the airport before departure. The government fee for overstay over 60 days is 25 million. Pay the fee and go out.
