Long overstay, wanting to exit. Best course of action?

The requirement for other type of retirement Visa E33F, is more lenient no need for Rp50kdeposit in in a state-owned bank, but
you will need a guarantor for this visa
Bank account proving income or allowance with a value of US$3k per month is still required.
I am on the "old" retirement visa.
It used to be minimum 1500 USD monthly income, but visibly they don't want cheap pensioners anymore and brought it up to 3k...
I still fit.
We'll see what the requirements will be end 2026 when my actual 5 year KITAP will expire....
Note that when applying for the 5 year KITAP, on top of the 1500$/month my agent told me that if would be good if I can show a 50 million Rp local account. Which I did.

This is an absurd rule, when you consider it is far more money required to live a simple life here! By going through an agent, I was not required to have so much in the bank, but I was required to have some in the bank, and a Health insurance policy! The ITAP permit did cost me IDR 49,500,000, which is around $3000! I guess they want to make sure you have enough dough to be covered if you get sick, or broke, and don't beg from the Indonesian people! This amount of money is far above what most local people have every month, or even in a year!
And Thailand sounds even more Expensive! 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏾‍♀️🦨💸💰

Everyone deported for overstay, may be able to re-enter Indonesia, if he/she pays a fine of 60 million rupiah. This procedure must be done at the Indonesian embassy in their home country. Then their ban is lifted.
I have not heard this before, and certainly not seen it in law, I would be very curious to see it if anyone has seen the actual law/regulation that says this.

Hi good people, just to wrap up this thread. A little late update, but everything went according to plan on my return to my country. Exactly one week after my original and complete interview, I boarded my plane April 15th. Escorted by two immigration officers. During this process, they said this normally takes longer time, but they were very helpful to find a solution so I could leave before Easter.

I must add that I was treated very well, and my total experience with the immigration in Medan, is a ten out of ten.

No fine was paid, as previously stated. The only fee paid, which has been added to their policy recently, is that I had to pay for the transport to the airport. In my case, a few hundred thousand rupiah, paid to the drivers (immigration officers).

However, a very interesting change in rules made recently as well, is this (I think it's worth noting for future cases):
Everyone deported for overstay, may be able to re-enter Indonesia, if he/she pays a fine of 60 million rupiah. This procedure must be done at the Indonesian embassy in their home country. Then their ban is lifted.

If so, they are back at square one, and can move forward as if they did pay this fine within the first 60 days of overstay in the first place.

Enjoy your summer, guys, I know I will, after these years of a personal nightmare.
Be safe, and don't overstay!

André
Great news! Good luck with your future endeavors!

Hi Brian, sorry for this late response.
This rule is brand new I was told, and given to me personally by the head immigration chief in Medan. It was mentioned during the process by my case handler as well, as an opportunity to re-enter Indonesia, in spite of my long overstay. They both specifically told me that this procedure must be done and paid (60 mill rp or equivalent) at the embassy in my own country, and my ban would be lifted.

I have no reason to doubt this, they should know the current law and rules in both places. But I haven't searched for it written as a law anywhere.

That hasn't always been my experience with immigration officials! You should ask for the law, especially before transferring 60jt.
