Kitap Renewal struggles

Unfortunately I didn't find how to do the ITAP extension at evisa website , so we need to see how it is for an ITAS extension , to have an idea .

Applications for ITAP extensions that have been submitted and immigration fees have been paid before the ITAP period ends are not counted as overstays if the completion of the application exceeds the ITAP period.

The document requirements for ITAP extensions are the same as the document requirements for ITAS extension with the same visa index, with several adjustments ...

Title : Banggai Immigration Facilitates Extension of ITAS via Evisa.imigrasi.go.id
July 31, 2024 - free translation

... Steps for an ITAS Extension through evisa.imigrasi.go.id :
1. Create and Login a sponsor's account:

2. Select the 'SERVICES' option:

3. Select 'Find Existing Stay Permit':

4. Select 'Action'

5. Select "Extend".
  • Select the duration of the ITAS extension ... and click "Detail & Apply".
  • Check the detailed information, upload the required documents, and fill out the application form.
  • Data according to the stages: Upload Passport & Photo >> Application Form >> Data Validation & Submit
  • Agree to the applicable terms and conditions, then click "Next".
6. Payment:
- After the application has been successfully submitted, make the payment
After getting my Kitap I now have a bunch of options from the drop down menu on the evisa site under my applications for staypermit.

For the application for the initial Kitap itself I went to the Bandung office and they gave us a list with what order and what documents to give and how to format it to get approval.

They also walked us through how we needed to do the online thing although they couldn't do it in the office itself anymore.

For the renewal not sure what documents are needed, need to ask imigrasi when the time comes. But I'd assume it's all the original documents plus the KTP and KK, which is surprisingly faster than expected through disdukcapil. KK was same day, and KTP will get on Tuesday since they didn't have stock of the pink cards and needed to order them.

I don't understand why you say you need the KTP card, and the KK? I just got my ITAP and my agent didn't mention it at all. I did need the Surat Domicile to get the ITAP, along with bank statement, proof of insurance, etc, to get the ITAP. So now I have one document for the ITAP, and one for the IMK. I feel satisfied with what I have. If having the KTP was necessary, my agent would have told me! But to satisfy my curiosity, I will ask him. 🤷🏼‍♂️🙏

No, the chatbot is on the evisa imigrasi site. We used the chat on the regular imigrasi site....that one is definitely not a chatbot, I'm 100% sure. They even at one point asked us for our password and they logged in to our account to check the problem.
I didn't find a reliable information , but the IA in Google's search states : "Yes, the Directorate General of Immigration's live chat service called Sahabat Mido is a chatbot service that can be used to obtain information and complaints. This service can be accessed through the websitemigrasi.go.id."

Because a Law states that .

Visa agents usually only do Immigration documents . Look for Jasa dokumen KTP for help on that , if you don't want to do it yourself .

But Indonesian Government is not .
My agent just told me that I will need these other two documents in Five Years, when I need to renew my five year ITAP. So, That is so far away, I'm not even going to think about it now. 🙏
But I do feel since I rely on him for my Visa, and Immigration needs He should have mentioned that I will need these documents in Five Years! 🤷🏼‍♂️🙏

Shuaib , from what I understood , as soon as you submit the first time by uploading basic documents (let's hope they don't require your KTP & KK at this stage) the evisa will automatically send you the payment data even still missing few required documents (as said by AhhSamboi : "The system gives you the payment code as soon as you submit" @ https://www.expatindo.org/community...onversion-in-the-new-evisa-system.7876/page-3 , post no.45) , which as soon as you have paid , the overstay fine will stop (I hope) .

So later you contact your local Immigration to know which additional documents you will need to upload (as the same AhhSamboi said : "In the supporting document section, please merge and attach the required documents in this order ... merge these documents into one pdf file before uploading it and make sure the file is not more than 5 MB in size" at post no.51 of the same link above) .

That'll be good at least if the overatay fine stops while I figuire out how to get a ktp and kk even though kitap is expired 😂.

Once I've gone through the renewal process I'll reply in this thread to let people know what's required and how it went.

Unfortunately even if the KTP WNA is not needed in the first phase , it will not be possible for you to get it now (you will have to convince your local Kantor Imigrasi to accept a "Surat Domisili" in its place) .

UU no.24 Year 2013
Article 63 - free translation
(1) Indonesian citizens and foreigners who have an ITAP and are 17 years old or are married or have been married are required to have an e-KTP.
(4) Foreigners ... are required to request the e-KTP no later than 30 days before the expiration date of the ITAP.

I don't think it will be needed at all actually because the immigration site doesn't list it there under requirements for itap renewal, only the sponsors ktp. I think the reason some are asked for it is because their local immigration offices are asking for it, not that the head office requires it. Whereas now that it's online and the site is controlled by the head office it shouldn't be needed to process the application. Anyway I will see. Maybe I'm wrong.

Shuaib , you could just go to your country now to avoid all these uncertainties (but I am not 100% sure if you can leave without a valid Re-Entry Permit) .
By leaving without an Exit Only Permit will cause a smaller problem if comparing with what you may have if you stay .

My home country is half way accross the world so I don't think it would be worth the cost. I'll just wait and see how it goes. Worst case scenario I'll go to a near by country after paying overstay fees and then apply for a new kitap or whatever visa I'll be eligible for and enter indon again.

My agent just told me I don't need a KTP until I need to renew my ITAP in five years! I hope this works. If this was important, I would expect my agent to have told me, since I have been paying him for so many years! I know his job is only to get Visa's and Stay Permits, but if this was something important, I would think he should have told me? How is a tourist supposed to know these things? That's why I use an Agent! 🤷🏼‍♂️🤪🙀🙉

Immigration doesn't have anything to do with the KTP other than giving the Kitap, until you need to renew as it's one of the required documents from the list (at least the one they gave me) and to get a KTP you need a KK.

Mine is a spouse KTP and my sponsor is my wife. Part of getting the Kitap is the integration letter stating that you will try to integrate into the society of Indonesia.

Anyway I would rather have the KTP to carry around instead of my passport since they no longer put the stamp inside or issue a physical Kitap card.

I had read somewhere that you're technically supposed to get the KK and KTP made within 14 days of getting your Kitap or there is a fine of some sort.

Getting both made is free and pretty easy if you're close to disdukcapil

From what few members said about their online experience , it seems there is no change in how Immigration processes are approved . It seems that processes are first approved by the local Kantor Imigrasi , then later by Jakarta's Immigration Directorate . So approval still depend on each city's Kantor Imigrasi own policy/requirements .

Free and easy if your local disdukcapil are aware of the rules/laws . have tried three times to get my KTP and KK through my local office only to be told the first time Foreigners can't get them ! Second time when i went in with a copy of the rules /laws they said there was a problem with Foreigner Ktp's and KK's due to corruption at several offices . The third time they said I couldn't do it locally and that I'd have to go to the main office in Banyuwangi . I haven't been back again and have never been asked for anything but my passport and Kitap by any official .

You are on BPJS correct? How did you get on it without a KK and KTP? First things they asked for with me and I know I have had to present them for other things, I just can't remember exactly what. Also curious as to how you got BPJS at all without working and without a spouse.

I don't know except I did have my Kitas, and got my Bank account at the same with the bank next door to BPJS office. So now I have my ITAP, Bank account, Surat Domicile and BPJS account. The bank account has come in handy, because I use it to buy things on Shoppee, and used to sign up to Netflix here. So far, I am disappointed with BPJS, because every major operation, or medication, I have needed, I had to pay cash, because I can't afford private insurance, or international insurance, at my age. So it seems, getting the KTP, and KK is not necessary until I need to renew my ITAP in Five years. The other poster seems to have a difficult time also getting them. I have a laminate of my ITAP, so if I ever need to proof my status, I will present that. I don't see any need for me to go to any government office, so I will let it be for now.
This is not saying, that others of you have needed these documents, and it was good you had them, but I am not married, don't work, and live quietly, and simply! So until it's a problem, I will just let it be for now!

I just remembered when i renewed my re-entry permit two years ago I wasn't asked for ktp or kk. They had given us a printed out list of required documents and it included foreigners ktp and kk but those two were crossed out in pen.

We are going to the head office/pusat in jakarta tomorrow because we found someone online who had the same issue and they said it was resolved when they went there after spending the whole day there.

Bandung must have a lot more foreigners than where you're at because they just asked for my Kitap and SKTT copy for the KK along with the form for the KK, then for the KTP they only needed the KK copy.

I know the kelurahan near my house is uninformed about what would be needed because they sent me on a wild goose chase to get 4 different surat domisili. Kecamatan can do the service for people who already have it made but informed me I needed to go to disdukcapil for the first time to get everything made.

Other than picking up the KTP everything was done within 3 hours over 2 days because I needed to wait for the email with the KK.

Maybe it's because my wife and I go to their offices too much handling other family paperwork, but they usually recognize us when we come in as well 😅
