Hi. My spouse Kitap is about to expire and I am going through some really annoying issues that I'd like to share in the hope I can get some useful advise or at least vent a bit.
It expires April 21st and so I was able to renew from January, though since I travelled in January I started to try and renew it in February. My wife (WNI/sponsor) was told by one of imigrasi's social media accounts that the application process is only online now and we're not supposed to go to the kantor imigrasi. So we tried using the evisa website and applying except that we did it wrong since there is no proper instructions there or guidance on how to go about it.
So after making an account on the site we searched for my kitap number and tried to apply to extend it but it didn't work. When we asked the imigrasi live chat they said it's because we're supposed to make the account in my wife's name since she's the sponsor but we had made it in my name. So we made a new account in my wife's name and searched my kitap number and tried to extend it but it still didn't work. Asked Imigrasi live chat again and they told us it's because we can only attempt to extend one time, because now my kitap file is linked to the first account we made, meaning I somehow became the gauarantor or sponsor, or something along those lines.
So now they explained we need to apply to "change gaurantor" through the site to make my wife the gaurantor again which costs 500.000 rp (strange that we can accidentally change the gauarantor for free but then need to pay money to change it back again).
So we went ahead and applied to change guarantor and this was late february, then after 2 weeks of it saying "waiting confirmation" finally we got a pending status asking us for more documents we needed to upload. We did that, and then it went to back to "waiting confirmation" again and to this day (April 17) it's still like that....almost two months total we've been waiting just to change the guarantor and my kitap expires in 3 days.
The live chat told us as long as we apply to extend before it expires it's fine. Today we went to the local kantor imigrasi and they said if we try to extend after it expires we'll be paying overstay fees of 1jt per day. He said he will try to contact the main imigrasi pusat and try to ask to make it faster but I am very skeptical that will help as we've already complained almost everyday through many of their social media accounts, Whatsapp, email, everything, and they just say to keep waiting or that they dont know. I am afraid I'm gonna end up paying 10jt or more for overstay fees on top of the 23jt to renew kitap. By the way thats the only renewal option the site gives me, unlimited kitap for 23jt.
