Indonesia to extend mandatory quarantine to 14 days for travellers from some countries.

If I read the letter correctly, Indonesians coming from listed countries are still subject to 14x24 quarantine, but are only mandated to do 5 days in the hotel. The other 9 days can be done at home.

Then the question would, how do they enforce the 9 days at home and would someone go do checks to make sure people are staying at home? What if it is an Indonesian and their spouse?

A friend (WNI) from WAG just released yesterday after 5 days paid quarantine in hotel.
She does not mention additional 9 days self isolation at home

That is not the official regulation nor is it implemented yet, it is purely a recommendation, the SATGAS will decide what to do with it.

I don’t know, the letter doesn’t go into that detail.

DO I HAVE TO QUARANTINE ONCE I GET TO SINGAPORE?

All travelers, except those arriving from low-risk countries, need to quarantine for 21 days at a government designated hotel.

This is all well and good, but Singapore is stricter than Indonesia as relates to... just about everything. For what it's worth, Thailand is opening up for vaccinated travelers on 1 July:
Hopefully SATGAS will throw the Indonesian tourism industry a bone by giving preferential treatment to vaccinated travelers.

That is very interesting. Vaccine documents vary from country to country and fakes have already been widely circulated, I hope that doesn't become a problem for them. However, I see that they're still requiring a 7 day quarantine even for these vaccinated travelers. If Indonesia attempts this, I think they would be wise to open Bali for direct flights so people can do their quarantine in Bali. I think some 5 star hotels could create some nice quarantine experiences with private pools and quality room service.

Places like Bangkok and Jakarta will not open up for vaccinated travellers for a long long time. I think it could be possible for places like Phuket, Langkawi and Bali though. But still, despite various articles predicting when it might happen, I don't think even the tourist islands will open up quarantine-free this year.

Governments in this region will lose much more by being seen as the ones letting Covid back in than they would gain by having some foreign tourists. Also to get to the islands it often involves transit through the country's main airport, which makes it even more risky.

I have the letter that my friend received after 5 days, stated that she is healthy with negatif PCR test result, allowed / recommended to travel to final destination without additional quarantine.
The letter valid for one day only.

I hope so, I am planning to travel next month and I am from one of the country. Spending 14 days in hotel is huge expense as they have the packages for quarantine.

I hope it is 5 days and remaining days must be at home.

snpark you keep referring to Singapore in a thread about Indonesia quarantine.

Lets wait untill the official announcement comes out. Untill then it is still 5 days quarantine and no need to confuse people (but be warned it might change soon).
Yes its confused me better hide that reply :)

To expensive if its 14 days for two person its 8.5 million its ok but 14 days it will be doubled.

Dear Members, Can we decide hotel from the approved list ourselves? because they may throw you in most expensive hotel and you will regret it.

You might also regret staying in the cheapest.

5 days with poor Wi-Fi, 3 tv channels, no hot water, no opening windows, indonesian "meals" and a tiny room with no luggage storage and no fresh air just the same a/c air and smell circulating for 5 days. Worse than a jail maybe.

If you have the money (and it's only about $1k) I can assure you that you would not regret staying in a 5 star hotel for 5nights rather than a 2* one

Since there is no tourism one would assume you are coming for business so insist your company pays for 5*

So talking to a mate of mine who works at one of the embassies, there was recently a meeting with several of them plus reps from the Indonesian government about this. He said they will likely decide later than sooner(maybe mid June).

I hope embassies start opening its makes no sense if they allow online and embassies not opened for visa.
