How to proceess KITAS/VITAS Online

just to clarify for a stupid person like me:

To get wife sponsored KITAS I first need Sosabud visa?

I will change jobs soon, and want to get wife sponsorede KITAS first.

I will EPO in December probably to Singapore. Can I get the Sosabud visa from Immigration there the same day?

How to apply for Sosabud visa?

THanks

i already have work sponsored KITAS.

I want to limit the number of trips out of the country.

Another question then.

Can Sosabud be converted to wife sponsored KITAS without leaving the country?

Jim- I think that you can change the sponsor or convert a work sponsored ITAS to spouse sponsored... I can't remember clearly- but maybe an idea start a new thread asking about that?

I don't understand the significance of your last question. If you are in the country on a KITAS, it is the same number of trips out of the country to get either a visa sosbud or visa itas

The answer to the sosbud conversion to ITAS- yes- you have to leave the country to get the Sosbud- and then process the conversion once back here (no need to exit again)- be sure the wife is named as the sponsor though.

If you are already on an ITAS then it might be possible to change the itas without leaving- I am not sure about this one- maybe Philippe D can answer that one- I believe he changed from work sponsored to spouse sponsored- I don't know if he was required to EPO & start from new though- ALSO depending on how long you have been married you might prefer to go to an ITAP- again I am not sure if one can change a work sponsored ITAS to a spouse sponsored ITAP with any simplicity , if at all. & I apologise, because I just don't have time to research it for you.

PM Philippe D (& Sergi) with a link to this thread and I am sure he will help if he can

Hi I have question regarding the process before receiving this "Tanda Terima Permohonan"
So I tried signing up from this link http://visa.imigrasi.go.id/pravnp-web/xmlhttp/homenew/visa_app.jspx at around 9.30am today (monday)
I'm the foreigner and my spouse's Indonesian, we're both currently not in Indonesia.
I filled in all my spouse's details (NPWP follows KTP number) and uploaded the KK and KTP images.
After I clicked on submitted, the next page says that the Nomor Aktivasi has been sent to the email pls check inbox and spam ... & asks me to enter "Nomor Aktivasi:"
So I thought my wife would've received the code straight, but she received nothing at all even until now, 11.45am
My questions are:
Does the activation code take awhile? If yes, how long does it take?
Does the activation code include "Tanda Terima Permohonan"?
Or possibly am I too late to sign up? If yes, Should I apply even earlier like at midnight 00.00am?
I hope to get some enlightment, thanks in advance!

So I applied online, I received this reply:

"Tanda Terima Permohonan
Permohonan:PERSETUJUAN VISA TINGGAL TERBATAS SUAMI IKUT ISTRI WNI
Harap datang ke Subdit Visa lantai 1 Gedung Direktorat Jenderal Imigrasi Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said Kav. X-6/8 Jakarta Selatan pada tanggal 24 Aug 2016 untuk melakukan pembayaran PNBP biaya kawat persetujuan visa sebesar Rp 100.000,- (seratus ribu rupiah) sesuai dengan PP 45 Tahun 2014.

PERHATIAN :
1.Tanda Pembayaran berlaku 7 (tujuh) hari, jika dalam waktu terlampaui maka tanda pembayaran tidak berlaku dan harap mengajukan permohonan kembali;
2.Pembayaran PNBP biaya kawat persetujuan visa dilakukan pada hari senin - kamis pukul 08.00 s/d 12.00 WIB danhari Jum'at pukul 08.00 s/d 11.00 WIB;
3.Harap menggunakan Map berwarna kuning untuk Permohonan Visa Kunjungan (Single/Multiple) dan Map berwarna Hijau untuk permohonan Visa Tinggal Terbatas;
4.Untuk permohonan Visa Tinggal Terbatas melampirkan copy rekomendasi dari instansi terkait;
5.Melampirkan copy paspor berwarna (colour);
6.Melampirkan Surat Kuasa (asli) jika dikuasakan;
7.Melampirkan Surat permohonan dan penjaminan (asli) bermaterai Rp.6.000,-;
So it seems I need a green folder, a colour copy of my passport (data page only?), a letter of attorney, and the letter of application which I already made.

And I need to send all this to someone in Jakarta who can do this for me (any ideas???), because obviously with an online system you couldn't possibly take the 100,000 IDR online.

But what is this?
"
Untuk permohonan Visa Tinggal Terbatas melampirkan copy rekomendasi dari instansi terkait;"

I think maybe copy of surat lapor perkawinan?

The nomor aktivasi is simply an e-mail confirmation code. The main purpose of this is to make sure your e-mail is working (very similar to the activation e-mail you received from this forum for signing up.

So if you haven't received it:

1) Check your spam folder
2) Give it some time, they may take up to 1 day to actually send it out.
3) Failing 1 and 2, try updating the e-mail address to some other address. Some people have reported better luck with a different address.

It is not the same as Tanda Terima Permohonan, which will be sent out after they receive your application.
As long as the main page says they are still accepting applications, it is not too late to apply on that day. They have a set quota, but for KITAS it is fairly high.

Thanks for replying!
Will keep on checking inbox and spam throughout today
However on the home page http://visa.imigrasi.go.id/pravnp-web/xmlhttp/homenew/homenew.jspx it says:

Attention
Visa application limited
only 0 per day.
Now, already at position "0"

Does this mean I can't sign up for the rest of the day?

Hi! Ive been doing online vitas application. Thanks for the help of dafluff directing me to the correct website. With all the right documents, the process has been smooth and very fast. Im yet to go KBRI KL for vitas approval.

Just to drop by to say that all process went smoothly, I've gotten my ITAS elektronik sent via email and yet to collect the passport tomorrow. Is this considered KITAS? and is there a guide what to do after ITAS elektronik? The counter lady at immigration office said that I have to go to Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil. will appreciate any guide of what to bring and the process. Thanks

Congratulations on your success with ITAS. You should print out the "Card" they emailed you as reference.

What the counter lady is referring to is for you to get an Indonesian ID as issued by Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil. The correct ID for a KITAS holder is called a SKTT. Have a look at this article for the process:

Thank you dafluff for pointing to the link! Is there a specific police station (like polres jak-bar or polda metro jaya) to get STM? or any police station will do?

Thank you dafluff for pointing to the link! Is there a specific police station (like polres jak-bar or polda metro jaya) to get STM? or any police station will do?

Either the Polsek (smallest unit office) or Polres/Poltabes (city level office) that covers your home address will work.

Update as per today (June 2017)
STM (Surat Tanda Melapor) requirements at Polres Metro Jakarta Barat
- Photocopy of Foreigner Passport
- KITAS + photocopy
- Photocopy of Sponsor KTP
*always bring original just in case
STM collection:
- 1 working day
- despite a banner at the front saying no pungli, sogok etc the officer will still ask for "Admin fee". I was dumbfounded, we asked how much, she never said specific amount. We gave Rp20k, but not enough she said, it's Rp25k. just wow.

SKTT requirements at Dispendukcapil Jakarta Barat
- Photocopy of Foreigner Passport
- KITAS + photocopy
- Photocopy of Sponsor KTP
- Photocopy of Sponsor KK
- Photocopy of Surat Domisili
- Photocopy of Surat Laporan Menikah (Overseas Registered Marriage)
- STM
- Fill in 2 forms provided by the officer (1 for sponsor with Rp6000 meterai, 1 for foreigner no meterai)
- Write a "Surat Permohonan", a blank paper and a reference are provided by the officer
- No passphoto required
- No fee was asked when submitting (maybe upon collection)
- come back after 14 working days for collection
(will update this after collecting the SKTT)

SKSKPS (Surat Keterangan Susunan Keluarga Penduduk Sementara) has been cancelled and no longer required.

Both Polres and Dispendukcapil located along Jln S Parman, great locations for those who lives nearby, but the traffic could be major headache.

1. Be married to an Indonesian citizen. No need to be married for any period of time. Be willing to leave Indonesia (not applicable if you are already out of Indonesia) to process visa. Have relevant documents. Be willing to travel to Jakarta, or find someone there who will go for you to pay the rather token sum of 100k rupiah.
2. Scan all the following documents as jpegs, size less than 400kb.

(a) Every page of your passport (suggest front and back as well, to avoid anal Indonesian problems. One page/double page per jpg. Suggest minimum 21 months validity (12 months for kitas, six months for minimum passport validity at end of KITAS, plus 3 months for processing, leaving Indonesia, etc.) Passport should have free space:
* full clean page for ITAS visa
* entry/exit stamp for 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] country
* entry stamp for entry into Indonesia
* combined stamp for KITAS & IMK
(b) KK (family card) in name of spouse
(c) KTP (identity card) for spouse
(d) Marriage certificate
(e) If married outside Indonesia, 'surat laporan perkawinan di luar negeri' is required from your catatan sipil. This should be completed essentially immediately after marriage, following return to Indonesia. However you may be able to arrange a later date.
(f) Surat pernyataan dan jaminan - download here and fill in https://goo.gl/14iaSA Print out, affix 6000IDR materai stamp and sign (in name of Indonesian citizen) which must go partly on top of materai
(g) If married in Indonesia, a certificate of no impediment from your embassy (note: should be obtained before marriage!)
(h) Surat permohonan - download https://goo.gl/RPEJmg and sign in Indonesian citizenship name with materai as above
(i) bank statement with minimum balance of 2.5 mill rupiah (suggest more!) in name of Indonesian

2. Register online in the name of your Indonesian spouse at https://goo.gl/9UG9gH (note if you register in your own (foreigner) name you will NOT be able to process the visa, it must be done as the Indonesian citizen). This requires validation of the email, and you can probably only register Monday-Friday. They will ask you for scans of Indonesian citizen's KTP (id card), Kartu Keluarga (family card) and NPWP (tax card). In practice you do not seem to need the NPWP and where it is required you can probably just upload the KTP again, and put some zeroes in the form as relevant.

3. After the account has been activated, make an application online for a visa for 'suami ikut istri WNI', or 'istri ikut suami WNI' as applicable. There is a limit on the number of applications per day, so doing the application between midnight and noon is a good idea to avoid being cut off till the next day (or Monday!) You will need to upload all of the scans listed above in the three sections provided. You can choose your chosen Indonesian consulate or embassy abroad during this process, where you (the foreigner) will fly to collect the visa.

4. After the application has been submitted online with all the documents, you should receive an email the same day (if you submitted your application in the middle of the night/early morning), or the next day (if you submitted afternoon), inviting you to come to South Jakarta immigration to pay the sum of 100,000 rupiah. This can NOT be done online. But you do not have to go in person, you can grant power of attorney to someone.
Download power of attorney here: https://goo.gl/EpZxnK Power of attorney must be fixed with materai 6ribu at middle bottom, such that both signatures spread onto the materai (left and right side)
Either way, the email will tell you to bring a handful of documents to Jakarta. Ignore this and bring photocopies of ALL of the documents above (a to i), with the exception that you can just bring the passport data page, not the whole book. In addition, the documents which you signed and affixed with materai should all be the originals. The documents need to be in a GREEN folder, otherwise you will be told to go away. To send the documents to Jakarta you can use the Indonesian post office, or Tiki service tiki.id. Bear in mind that whatever service you use will arrive too late for same day trip to immigration, so you must go the next day. In addition, Indonesian civil servants don't do much work on Fridays, so if you submit on Friday then you probably can wait too. If you are in a hurry you can post the documents to your Jakarta contact immediately upon online submission.

5. After payment, your application MIGHT be completed the same afternoon but then it could take several days. Approval should arrive to your sponsor's email, but you can check the application status online at http://visa.imigrasi.go.id using the application number from the email you received when you submitted the document. If it shows as complete, and you haven't received an email, then send an email to [email protected] with the relevant reference numbers and they should send you the form within 24 hours - do not wait, email as soon as it shows complete online.

7. After the visa is approved, you can fly to your appointed foreign Indonesian consulate/embassy - note that it will be closed on all Indonesian and foreign holidays, and will be very busy the day after, and probably on Mondays. Visa submission will typically be in the morning, and collection the next day, so plan accordingly.

Requirements in Penang:

1 * 3x4 passport photo any background
1 * print out of approval email from immigration in jakarta
1 * filled out application form, only available in the office, bring your own black pen
1 * photocopy of passport data page (other pages NOT required) - free photocopying available in back, but to save time bring your own photocopy
395 MYR cash visa fee
Submission from 9:30am till lunch time ish (sorry not sure the exact time)
Collection NEXT working day (not same day) after 2pm (so don't apply on a Friday! or the day before a holiday)
Not required, but may be asked for in other locations, so you might as well bring them:
* all the documents above such as marriage certificates etc.
* letter to consulate from spouse sponsoring visa

8. After visa is entered into passport, fly back to Indonesia and make immediate report at https://goo.gl/Jxk7Xc
You get an email telling you to visit the relevant local immigration office.

In order to go there you must bring all your documents again. In addition, you will ALSO need to bring a Surat Domisili from Kepala Desa.
You will also have to fill in several forms:

* KITAS application form, there was a section to be signed by 'kuasa' (power of attorney) - my wife signed this, it wasn't clear if that was correct, but no complaints
* Foreigner new data form, again with signature by spouse.
* One photo (6x4, red background although they said it doesn’t matter)
* Surat jaminan from the local office (similar to the one above), signed by your spouse with materai 6,000 RP

After you have filled these forms in, they tell you to come back in two days at a specific time to have fingerprints and photos. This could be done immediately, but probably they make you wait, as they want you to use an agent for the ‘express’ service.

You must also pay 2.055m IDR
* KITAS 1 year (electronic only) 1m IDR.
* IMK 1 year (re-entry permit) 1mIDR.
* Information Technology fee (not sure if this is national) 55k IDR

So you come back after two days and they take your photo & fingerprints (in the email from Jakarta they said 'interview', but I had none), and then they tell you to come back again in two more days to collect the passport and KITAS card. In my case, I sent someone to pick up my passport. They called me and were not happy about this and said 'don't do it again, passport is serious business'. But they still gave it out.

Note: Indonesian bureaucrats are NOT there to make your life easy. Bear in mind

* arrive before 11am
* no shorts/no flipflops etc
* you should have ALL of the required documents to avoid a bad time. If you don't have them now then expect to need them in the future so best just to suck it up and organise ALL the required paperwork, so you can just smile sweetly and hand over everything the bureacurat demands to make your life difficult.

Total cost guide (minimum!):

* 0.1m IDR Jakarta online fee
* ~0.3m for someone to process the payment for you in Jakarta
* 2.055m for KITAS/IMK/IT fee
* 1.25m (approx) visa fee in Penang
* 0.1m various costs of photocopying, scanning, posting, etc.
* 1.7m return ticket to Penang with transport to and from airports
* 0.3m accommodation Penang
* .15m transport to Penang consulate
* 0.3m IDR three trips to local imigrasi

So total is around 6-6.5m IDR for everything, if you are already in Indonesia. And minimum time:

Mon - submit application, post documents to contact in Jakarta
Tue - documents arrive in Jakarta
Wed - payment is made in Jakarta by your contact
Fri - decision arrives from Jakarta
Sun- fly to Penang
Mon - apply in Penang
Tue - get visa in Penang, fly back to Indonesia
Wed - get Surat Keterangan Domisili from kepala desa
Thur - go to imigrasi with docs
Mon - go back for photos
Wed - collect passport & KITAS

So the time frame - minimum - is 2.5 weeks. And you need 3 days in Penang, and 3 days in your local imigrasi, more or less. Note that the expiry date of your KITAS seems to be the date of your entry on the ITAS visa, NOT the date when you actually receive it (which could be up to a maximum of 4 weeks later if you delay things - but no more, as you have only a 30-day entry permit initially)

If you are NOT already in Indonesia then you may not need to fly to an embassy, so can save money that way.

Starting Oct 26 there will also be the option to convert social visa to KITAS online, as well as online KITAS extension.

I am on a Tourist Visa that was extended for 30 days under the VOA program.

My indonesian wife and I married in Indonesia and I am told that I now need to apply for the 1 years KITAS under section 317 and to do so we register online and apply to receive a Telex Visa Approval which i would take over to Singapore to the Indonesian Embassy to receive the Visa.

Where I am stymied is the online application. The information in the link you provided does not answer several specific questions asked to complete the online application. Apparently some of the menu options have changed since the person who wrote that blog posted it..

Specifically:

Once you login and click on Visa Approval button we get to a screen as follows:

Type of Visa _________________
Arrival Purpose/Objective _______________
Index -
Representatives of Indonesia locations for acquiring VISA __________________

On the dropdown menu i am given 4 options
1 - Visit Visa
2 - Multiple Visit Visa
3 - Admission Visa
4 - Limited Stay Visa on Arrival.

I LOOKED AT EACH OF THE DROP DOWN OPTIONS AND THE ONLY ONE WHICH WILL LEAD ME TO INDEX CODE 317 IS THE ADMISSION VISA.

I THEN CHOSE:

TIDAK BEKERJA UNTUK PENYATUAN KELUARGA AND
PENYATUAN KELUARGA
Index: 317
Representatives of Indonesia locations for acquiring VISA - SINGAPURA
Duration of Stay Until: Date ???? Periode ???

This is where I get stuck. What do I put down as the Duration of Stay?
