In the street I live, over the last years at least 5 or 6 new villas. Most of them still vacant.
I know a guy who used to do the "house building /flipping", can't get rid of the last one finished a year ago.
A French guy finished a house adjacent to the resort I live about 2 years ago, he managed to rent it 6 months. Now available for sale since over a year.
In a 500m radius 8 years ago there were 2 or3 resorts, nos 5 or 6. But the number of tourists has not doubled...so they all have a low occupancy rate.

These are other recent cases of people in Bali sharing their personal property investment experiences on social media. A person is asking, whether the 10-12% return is reasonable. For context, 10-12% return in equity market in the bull market is not that difficult to get.

Of course, anyone on the internet can make up their own story. However, when people gain nothing from sharing their experiences and are simply trying to help answer someone else's question, they have little incentive to fabricate their stories.

For political sycophant talking, making a new promises, keep issuing a new regulation just to look good is very easy if you do not need to pay the price for the wrong policy that has been issued.

And ironically this is what has happened over the last two years. There are now three international reputable Banks: The Indonesian units of Citigroup Inc, Standard Chartered plc and HSBC Holdings plc remitted a total of 11.5 trillion rupiah (US$640 million).
