So Amien Rais is called in by the police for questioning. A complaint was filed against him by a PDI member about the 'people power' statements. But that will be handled later, first they want him as a witness in the Eggi case.

After Eggi, another arrest is made, Lieus Sungkharisma this time.

A Chinese Indonesian with a questionable background (uncle Li is not really popular in my F-I-L), and very controversial.

Rather ambitious, also politically. He was a big Jokowi supporter back in 2014 but all that changed after a dispute with the DKI about some land, followed by a conviction, and then he turned completely anti Ahok and obviously also against Jokowi.

He was also prominently involved in the 212 demos and calls himself an activist. Over here that means more or less you do anything possible to make sure your political candidate and agenda will succeed. Really anything.

Anyway, he got arrested in his apartment, barely dressed, in the early morning. A woman was present, he claims it's the housekeeper.

So, it's a bit cleaning the ship.

Is the police trying to intimidate Prabowo? Treason is the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government. Did he try to overthrow the government? I think he is just saying the election is fraudulent. BTW, the SPDP named him 'Prabowo Subianto', it is not his complete name as per his KTP.

In his thinly veiled references to "People Power" and rejection of the legal avenues available for the redress of grievances, Prabowo appears to be attempting a coup d'etat. That could certainly be considered treasonous.

Or: "I will fight and shed my last drip of blood for this country."

With that nationalistic and vague BS one can cover his @ss quite well.

I think they'd have a better case against Amien Rais. He stated things that the Constitutional Court should be bypassed since it was useless.

I think the SPDP (investigation letter) was leaked as a "preview" for Prabowo, meaning if you keep up this tirade, we don't hesitate to take you down.

He did an about face today and announced that he will seek to contest the election at the MK (constitutional court).

Not sure what he want's to do there, since apparently the previous claim they lodged provided absolutely zero evidence beyond some links to online news sites.

So just like last time, there will be a case at the Constitutional Court (MK) challenging the outcome of the elections. And just like last time...

I’m still convinced all this will have major repercussions for people involved. Not right away, but when the storm lies down ..... Javanese don’t forgive & forget so easily and are patient. Not sure if it will be Yemen again or something else though.

In the mean time, Prabowo was visiting a ‘crisis center’, giving support to victims. The Twitter of the campaign team and Indonesian press mention him rubbing stomach and massaging head. ?
