Confusion over ITAS to ITAP conversion

ok people. A funny update from imigrasi; (seems like fastpitch17's advice worked. Many thanks to him btw)

Here is the chat between me and the imigrasi officer on WhatsApp. (This occured after I got in touch with DirJenIm via email) They said you need to get in touch with your local imigrasi office(rs) for further information; and I was like: "what ?" (what a coincidence? They just told me to do the same (getting in touch with you for further info) guys !!!) then on WhatsApp this occured as follows;

me : Hello ?
me: Anyone there?
Im. Off. : tomorrow it can be picked up.
me: You mean it's ready ?
Im Off. : tomorrow you can be picked up.

I felt like a sort of a fugitive once I heard "I could be picked up" :D (surely just a grammar error lmao. ) (on the contrary - joke aside - kudos to all imigrasi personnel who work hard for us)

All in all, my KITAS to KITAP conversion process seems like completed for the time being. But the Izintinggalonline.imigrasi.go.id keeps telling me that my application is "dalam process" / "on progress" somehow. ( "in progress" is better anyway... :D )

Any ideas why this is the case my expat mates ?

Well until you actually collected your passport it is still in process / progress
Maybe after you get it, in 24hours the system will be updated to say "completed" ?

Latest update, yesterday I received my KITAP card and then applied for KTP and I also received it, but as they mistyped my email they failed to send the "penerbitan itap" to me, I asked them to do so again they said it's impossible as it is automatically generated, but I really need it. I insisted on it, and they said "we'll get in touch with DirJenIm, and try to send it again. hope they'll be able to send it.

Update mates, I received my KTP yesterday ( it's pink lol) Btw, as they mistyped my email address now they said the system already sent the KITAP (penebitan ITAP) email to the wrong address and that email cannot be resent. But I desperately need that paper. I asked them but they still haven't replied ? Any tips (of how I can get it) brothers and sisters ?

The latest update; they have sent the ITAP paper :) So if a similar case emerges please insist even if they say they can't send it again btw; kudos to all Imigrasi personnel who are kind enough to display patience for my repetitive requests.

Hahah, I haven’t applied yet, came back to Malaysia, gonna apply once there again , Thanks

I applied on 6th Oct 2023 and I hope they can process faster paid fee on 10th and Fingerprints on 11th Oct. I think i need to wait for a month before I start messaging them 😂😂😂

Question. I have recently got my KITAP, KTP (for WNA) and Kartu Keluarga. If I move and change my address. Do I have to do the whole process again for KITAP? I see no address on the card.

However, I think I need to change KTP an KK.

When I changed addresses I had to hand deliver my file from the old immigation office to the new one. I don't know if that's the normal way but it's what they told me to do. I had to do that before I could change the address on my KTP and KK.

I have recently been posting questions like this on Bard. Someone might indicate how reliable is the following Bard response.

"
If you change your address in Indonesia, you will need to update your Kartu Keluarga (KK), KITAP, and Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP).
Kartu Keluarga (KK)
To update your KK, you will need to go to the Disdukcapil (Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil) office in your new area. You will need to bring the following documents:
  • Your old KK
  • Your new KTP
  • A letter from your RT (Rukun Tetangga) and RW (Rukun Warga)
  • A copy of your new rental agreement or deed of sale, if you are moving to a new house
KITAP
To update your KITAP, you will need to go to the Imigrasi (Immigration) office in your new area. You will need to bring the following documents:
  • Your old KITAP
  • Your new KTP
  • A letter from your sponsor
  • A copy of your new rental agreement or deed of sale, if you are moving to a new house
Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP)
To update your KTP, you will need to go to the Disdukcapil office in your new area. You will need to bring the following documents:
  • Your old KTP
  • A letter from your RT and RW
  • A copy of your new rental agreement or deed of sale, if you are moving to a new house
Once you have submitted all of the necessary documents, you will be issued a new KK, KITAP, and KTP. The process usually takes a few days.
It is important to keep in mind that you are legally required to update your KK, KITAP, and KTP within 30 days of moving to a new address. If you do not update your documents, you may be fined."

I can only laugh ..
Why did I move to this country? If I knew all what I know now. I would not move to this country.

Btw one needs a 'surat domisili" (yes .. sili 🤣) to prove you live at a new address. Nobody trust eachother here .. that's the problem .. effects everything here.

I also asked about the level of fines which may be imposed if documents not updated within 30 days.

"

The level of fines for not updating your KK, KITAP, and KTP within 30 days of moving to a new address in Indonesia varies depending on the region. However, the fines can be significant, ranging from hundreds of thousands of rupiah to millions of rupiah.

For example, in DKI Jakarta, the fine for not updating your KK within 30 days of moving to a new address is 500,000 rupiah. The fine for not updating your KTP within 30 days of moving to a new address is 1 million rupiah.

In addition to the fines, you may also have difficulty accessing government services and benefits if you do not update your KK, KITAP, and KTP. For example, you may not be able to enroll your children in school or open a bank account.

Therefore, it is important to update your KK, KITAP, and KTP as soon as possible after moving to a new address in Indonesia.

Please note that the information above is for general guidance only. It is always best to consult with the local Disdukcapil or Imigrasi office to get the most up-to-date information on fines and procedures for updating your documents."

Crazy .. the first step in the post before: to get a surat domisili and go to RT and RW, then apply for kk and new ktp and waiting for a new kk and ktp already takes more than a month.

I really wouldn't trust this AI-generated stuff. Some is correct, some is partially correct, some is misleading. But it is written as though you should have complete confidence in what it is saying, even though all it is is a language prediction mechanism. Then if you tell it it is wrong, it will change the answer (regardless of whether it was really wrong or not). I haven't used it for 4-5 months now, it's more effective just to google something.

I just ask my visa agent about this. I will post his answer.

Yes, i have found Bard to be wrong on a number of occasions and then had an apology and a different answer. As increasingly companies will come to use AI to save money by not employing people the possibilities are disconcerting. A story this week in Australia about a fellow being seriously harassed for months by debt collectors over an unpaid bill. It was eventually found that a computer had matched his name with a debt even though their names were spelt differently and as the information had come from a computer system the debt collectors were in no doubt that this poor hapless fellow was their target. We can assume that this kind of mismatching will occur with law enforcement and security agencies as they also begin more and to rely on computer matching for speed against human analysis of information. And then of course, there is the pursuit of possible terrorists with Islamic names which are so often taken down incorrectly.

Back to the topic ..
Moving to a new address here, will involve a lot of steps and people like RT / RW ... for surats, permissions, ... makan banyak waktu dan keluar uang.

Btw what is a RT or RW? What are their positions? What surat are they giving for arranging a new KK or KTP?
