Bali deports expats

On the other hand, when he arrives in The Netherlands he will get a social wellfare payment called "bijstands uitkering" around 1934 euro netto per month. And maybe also some additionals, like "huur subsidie" to pay the rent. Yes, that's why in The Netherlands the tax is very high.
With the cost of housing/ electric/ food this will be very hard for him - he really fucked things up taking that job where he would have been earning what - around 2 million a month (minimum wage in Lombok is low). I also find it mad that they hired him.

I was thinking the same, Gemina. But after pondering a bit more; if he’s an Indo (mixed) who speaks the language fluently (esp. after 30 years) and who has a NIK and even a (blue!) KTP, I can imagine they would deem him to be a local from another island?

Yes, either something like that or he was being paid under-table below minimum wage (so even less than 2 juta).
I actually feel sorry for the poor man as he must be in a very bad circumstance to have come to this.

Sad way to finish ones life.
But than again we don't know the whole story, which BTW after 30 years here could make an interesting read.

Then someone must have reported on him, maybe an ex-girlfriend? Otherwise, he could pretend to be a WNI and they will believe him (without asking to see his naturalization papers).

If he can afford to pay for his KITAP, then he must be doing good 5 years ago. Something bad must have happened which compel him to do menial work.

For elderly people over 65yo who are not entitled to state pension (AOW) What about Income Provision for Unemployed Older People (IOW) ?
Interesting. I am not familiar with this IOW, but reading the conditions, this is only for people, who lost their jobs and got the unemployment benefit (WW), which last for max. 24 months depending on how long one has been working. So, those people, not yet 67 years old, can get this IOW, after the WW stops.

I know Indonesian government is sharing information thorough INTERPOL’s information processing mechanisms, including for Red Notices and diffusions.
But does the Indonesian government shares information about the person who get deported from Indonesia with other countries, making it difficult for that particular person to get entry, visa to other countries when needed ?

Obviously there’s quite some information exchange with these cases, but mainly with the embassies of the countries concerned. I don’t think ASEAN has -like the Schengen countries- a central database or information exchange between its members on deportees.

As a form of state presence for Indonesian citizens with legal problems abroad, the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok has assisted with the repatriation of 25 problematic Indonesian citizens who have finalized the legal process of immigration violations and were subsequently deported by the Thai Government.

On 22 February 2023, the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok accompanied 17 and one day later 8 Indonesian citizens. All of these Indonesian citizens were recruited non-procedurally then entered (through) Thailand and brought to Myanmar to work through unofficial channels.

The Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok continues to urge Indonesian citizens/PMI to always comply with the provisions if they are going to work abroad such as a valid work visa/permit before departure, work contract, and other employment protection.

According to a press release of the Directorate General of Immigration on Sunday 12 March, in the first two months of 2023 Immigration carried out 259 Administrative Actions (TAK) against a total of 630 foreigners.

Meanwhile, in the first week of March 2023, Immigration has imposed TAK’s on 24 foreign nationals.

Immigration Administrative Actions (TAK) as intended may be:
1. Inclusion in the prevention or deterrence list;
2. Restriction, modification or cancellation of a residence permit;
3. Prohibition to be in one or several places in the territory of Indonesia;
4. The obligation to live somewhere in the territory of Indonesia;
5. Imposition of expenses; and/or
6. Deportation from the Indonesian Territory.

Usually it is flagged in the system even if the passport that has the stamp is 'damaged' and the person gets a new passport.

As a very recent example of these TAK’s: Four Nigerian foreigners were deported because they exceeded the residence period (overstay), while a Russian citizen was deported for misusing the residence visa by opening a business in Bali, he was a tennis coach in North Kuta.

That's old news. Now the Brazilian surfer is next to go

Already a couple of times where they arrested (even unknowing) drug smugglers form Brazil who came here to ‘surf’.

Studying in Yogya, working in Bali.

This goes viral the last couple of days. It is considered quite hilarious that an Italian woman goes to Bali to work as ….. teacher Balinese dance.

Not to forget meditation and spiritual classes related to Balinese culture. :twitch:
Having said that, she did study at the Indonesian Institute of Arts (ISI) in Yogyakarta.

And -as we’ve seen before- Ceccarelli was the holder of an Investor Limited Stay Permit.
