At least it wasn't another Australian disrespecting the Balinese this time. I think it completely reasonable for individuals such as this idiot who blatantly disrespect local traditions such as Nyepi to be placed on the next flight home, or better still, enact a law with a minimum sentence of a month inside Kerobokan. The only problem with this idea being there wouldn't be room for those serving time for more severe crimes such is the quantity of these halfwits.

An American tourist in Bali has been chained up by authorities and returned to his villa after local security found him out walking the streets on Nyepi, Bali’s silent day when everyone is asked to stay inside and observe local custom.
“They detained me for 30 minutes and after discussion, they had to let me go ... it’s your religious holiday and you are hurting people because they won’t follow what you tell them, come on.”
Whilst there is no legislation to stop foreigners in Bali from venturing out on Nyepi Day, it is expected that ex-pats and visitors will obey tradition for everyone to remain inside.
