US Presidential Election - What's your take?

And the goat went for Hillary.

Luckily the British have their priorities straight:

OMG less chocolate and more space in our bars!

OH God!! That is awful!.. it is not Toblerone anymore.. I dont know what that is.. very upset.. Don't think I will get used to this shape!

To me, this could also be classified as property damage. I am also slower to jump on the bandwagon of conclusions. I have been around long enough to see a few types of self inflicted property damage for donations and insurance. (The fake black man assailant or false bigotry as a distraction)

I have experienced 18 elections in the U.S.. I have seen actual violence on people before voting and at poles. I have also personally seen demonstrations in celebration and there was some property damage including after Obama won.

If only we could eliminate stupid people.

Every four years it is the most important election of my life and if the other side loses, violence will erupt, and the world is going to end if either side doesn't get elected. I don't get wrapped up in it.

Yes, all the deir predictions seem to be forgotten the day after. If the Republicans could handle the election of a Black person without violence, I doubt that a victory by a women will spark much of an uproar. Very few of our crackpots have the depth of conviction of suicide bombers when contemplating actions that could land them in jail or lead to their demise.

Yes, it's American and their actions will land them in jail. I would guess there are going to be some very stupid people reacting but they will be dealt with according to law. The real problems for the victor is what starts happening in January when they take their seat.

Listening to a lot of poll interview on various TV channels I get the feeling that the voters are not out to vote someone in to the whitehouse as much as they are to keep someone out and it didn't seem to lean one way or the other. People don't like either candidate so are voting for the lessor evil.

So far vote is as predicted; no key battleground states called yet.

Indiana has just been called for Trump. Again that is as predicted; the Electoral College now states at Trump 66 to Clinton 68.

Mostly filler, treading water comments from the TV pundits while we wait for polls to close and votes to be tallied.

At a few minutes after 9 EDT Trump 123 to Clinton 97, but still no battle ground states called.

Approaching 10 pm EDT Trump 136 to Clinton 104, still no battle ground states called, although Trump is leading in MI, OH, NC, GA & FL. Extremely close.

This is exciting, definitely a nail biter. VA has just been called for Clinton.

It's kind of funny that trump was selling his presidency as the economic savior of the state... and only a small advance of him in the election is enough for make the stock market get down!

What if he win???

Well at the end of the day he is a successful businessman. Hopefully he will use that for the greater good.

if not he will just nuke everyone

So now will he get his revenge on the Clintons, investigate the Clinton foundation and other alleged illegal activities

Trump is President come January. Who would have thought. The pollers and political experts putting out hourly information leading up to the election may need to be out looking for new jobs. never have they been so wrong.

He gave a good acceptance speech about everyone coming together now and how he will work for all Americans. That needed to be said because the divide in the people is great. It was certainly a wild election and I think it came down to who they trusted more and who they felt could actually bring change for the betterment of the US.

A sad indictment on the state of politics that someone so under qualified, so misogynistic, so racist, so appallingly geopolitically ill-equipped for the world stage should be elected as President of the world's most powerful nation. If nothing else I hope this sends a message to politicians around the globe that the people have had enough of their lies and deceit as I can only assume it was Trumps seemingly dumb honesty that got him elected.

I really can't believe it.

What do you have to be equipped for politics, I cannot say for the U.S. but in the U.k. Just self interest, perhaps someone dumb and honest is the right man for the job, we will see.

President elect Trump is in for a real culture shock as he has never dealt on a day to day basis with the bureaucracy. I suspect there will be a few "yes minister" moments and a few " you're fired" moments.

You got it there, in the U.K. Whitehall civil servants have screwed more government plans, I don't know what they have in the States, but I believe presidents don't always get their way, interesting times

Donald trump as President - the biggest fuck up the Americans have made since Vietnam.
