
Recently, the options for visit visas to Indonesia have slightly changed with more options available. Detailed information is available on the Indonesian Immigration website, however this article is a summary of the different options available and their purpose.

- Multiple Visit Visa (Visa Kunjungan Beberapa Kali Perjalanan)
- Possible reasons for application rejection:
Free Visa On Arrival (Bebas Visa Kunjungan)
Purpose:
- Leisure ,Tourism
- Family
- Social
- Art and Cultural
- Government visit
Giving Lecture or attend seminar - Attend a meeting held by head office or Representative office in Indonesia
- Continue journey to another country
Validity: 30 days from date of entry into Indonesia
Extendable? No.
Cost: Free
Where to apply: At the immigration checkpoint when entering the country at one of the following ports:
Requirements:
- An exit ticket
- Passport with at least 6-month validity left
- Proof of sufficient funds (min. USD 1,500)*
- Passport from one of the following countries:
Visit Visa On Arrival (Visa Kunjungan Saat Kedatangan)
Purpose:
- Holiday
- Family
- Social
- Art and Cultural
- Governmental Visit
- Non-commercial sport activity
- Benchmarking
- Short course/Training
- Provide consulting and training in implementing technological innovation on industry to improve Indonesian industrial product design quality, and foreign marketing
- Working in a very urgent matters
- Journalism (with approval by Minister of Foreign Affairs)
- Non-commercial movie making (with approval by Minister of Foreign Affairs)
- Business meeting
- Buying goods or products
- Giving lecture or attending seminars
- Participating in international exhibition
- Attend meeting held by company Head Office or Branch office in Indonesia
- Audit, quality control, inspection of a branch office in Indonesia
- Foreign workers on probation
- Transit
Validity: 30 days from date of entry into Indonesia
Extendable? Yes, one time for an extra 30 days.
Cost: USD 35
Where to apply: At the immigration checkpoint when entering the country from any port in Indonesia.
Requirements:
- An exit ticket
- Passport with at least 6-month validity left
- Proof of sufficient funds (min. USD 1,500)*
- Passport from one of the following countries:
Visit Visa On Arrival In Special Economy Zone (Visa Kunjungan Saat Kedatangan – Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus)
A special 7-day visa can be granted when entering Indonesia in Special Economy Zones at a lower cost. However, the regular 30-day visa is still available in the Special Economy Zone.
Purpose:
- Holiday
- Attending a seminar/conference/fair
- Governmental purpose
Validity: 7 days from date of entry into Indonesia
Extendable? No.
Cost: USD 15
Where to apply: At the immigration checkpoint when entering the country from one of Indonesia’s Special Economy Zone (Batam, Bintan and Karimun).
Requirements:
- An exit ticket
- Passport with at least 6-month validity left
- Proof of sufficient funds (min. USD 1,500)*
- Passport from one of the following countries:
Single Visit Visa (Visa Kunjungan Satu Kali Perjalanan)
Formerly known as Social Cultural Visa (Sosial Budaya Visa or SosBud Visa)
Purpose:
- Holiday
- Family
- Social
- Art and Cultural
- Governmental Visit
- Non-commercial sport activity
- Benchmarking
- Short course/Training
- Provide consulting and training in implementing technological innovation on industry to improve Indonesian industrial product design quality, and foreign marketing
- Working in a very urgent matters
- Journalistism (with approval by Minister of Foreign Affairs)
- Non-commercial movie making (with approval by Minister of Foreign Affairs)
- Business meeting
- Buying goods or products

Validity: Must be used within 90 days from grant date. Valid for a maximum of 60 days from date of entry into Indonesia.
Extendable? Yes, 4 times for an extra 30 days each time.
Cost: Depends on the country of application. Please contact your local Indonesian Embassy/Consulate. Usually around USD 50 (dependent on exchange rate).
Where to apply: At your local Indonesian Embassy/Consulate.
Requirements:
The minimum requirements are as follow:
- Application letter/form
- Guarantor letter (the guarantor is an Indonesian national or Indonesian organization)
- A passport with at least 6-month validity
- Proof of sufficient funds (min. USD 1,500)*
- Exit ticket
There may be more requirements depending on the country of application as well as the nationality of the applicant. Please contact the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate where you wish to apply for the visa for more information.
Multiple Visit Visa (Visa Kunjungan Beberapa Kali Perjalanan)
Formerly known as Social Cultural Visa (Sosial Budaya Visa or SosBud Visa)
Purpose:
- Family
- Social
- Cultural
- Governmental duties
- Business transactions
- Trading
- Attending a seminar
- Attending an international fair
- Attending a meeting held by an head or representative office based in Indonesia
- Transiting to another country
Validity: Valid for 5 years*. Each visit is valid for 60 days (meaning you must exit the country at the end of the 60 days).
Extendable? No
Cost: Depends on the country of application. Please contact your local Indonesian Embassy/Consulate. Usually around USD 110 (dependent on exchange rate).
Where to apply: At your local Indonesian Embassy/Consulate.
Requirements:

- Guarantor letter (the guarantor is an Indonesian national or Indonesian organization)
- A passport with at least 6-month validity
- Proof of sufficient funds (min. USD 1,500)*
- Exit ticket

Possible reasons for application rejection:
- For all the visit visa, the application may be rejected for the following reasons:
- Name of applicant is on the immigration blacklist (Daftar Penangkalan)
- Applicant has no valid and legal travel documents
- Applicant cannot prove that he has the official minimum funds for his stay (USD 1,500)
- Applicant has no onward or return ticket with a valid visa if required for the country to be visited next
- Applicant has a contagious illness, is obviously unhealthy mentally or anything may have the immigration officer suspecting that the applicant may be a danger for the public
- Applicant is suspected of being involved in an international crime syndicat or endanger the unity of the nation
- Applicant is suspected to be involved in a prostitution or human trafficking organization
