Wonders and curiosities

This seems silly to me, but I'm a westerner. A downside to being in your twenties, and still living with your parents, is lack of necessary skills for adulthood. I met a 25 year old girl, that didn't know how to cook. I asked her why, and she said, because her mother does all the cooking!
What kind of wife will she be? I see many of the new trainees here, in their twenties, so shy they act like they're still teenagers..
I have to admit that even I helped with house chores, leaving my parents house has definitely encourage me to upgrade those skills 😄. But when I visit my mom, of course it feels nice when she cooks for me 🥰.
Yes, being dependent means also makes someone uncertain about their own capability. And worse, some Asian people usually don't praise achievement. It's just not being said whether someone has done a good job. Nor said if it's ok to fail and we can try it again next time. We are lack of that.

Of course, it feels nice when someone does the work for you. I noticed my friend, and driver has the old school mentality, that he brings in the money, and his wife does all the cooking. That way of thinking, is becoming a thing of the past in America. I ask him if he is teaching his children how to cook, drive, work in the garden, and he says they're not ready. One of them is becoming a teenager!
I disagree with him and point out the importance of learning these basic skills, so when they become young adults, they will be more ready to handle the pressure of adulthood. Without someone else doing everything for them. It seems to be a cultural thing here, to treat the children like this.

Do you really think that if domestic help was as cheap in US as it is here that anyone would be upset about what is "woman's" work? Kids need to learn responsibility and I'm with you on that part though.
