Today's menu:

I don't know if any posters looked at the documentary link I put up about Norwegian Salmon and it being the most toxic food on the planet. I explained to my WNI wife the conclusions. We have just returned from Grand Lucky where my wife wanted to get some fish and of course.... she bought Norwegian salmon.

Ahh well to each of us our own poison.

Sausage and peppers, with sourdough bread from Beau Bakery

I have a 3 hour window - YAY...
I have steak , potatoes, onions & mushrooms so a basic steak & chips dinner for us tonight

Nothing special in the "home cooking department" this week.
Last week restaurant was couscous, a North African dish very popular in France.

Not convenient to make in small quantities, so I happy to find it here.

And yesterday evening was steak for the Miss and mussels for me. A pity the mussels are on the small side, but still nice to find this dish.

Breakfast like in my schooldays....
Baguette and butter.

Today easy lunch, fried eggs, bacon and toast.
I put some some egg white and bacon on the toast, fold it in two and dip it in the egg yolk. Not very refined but bloody tasty !
In fact this would be a great winter breakfast, but a bit too much work at 06:00 am... Good on a hangover morning as well !

I have been quite sick for a few days ... zero on the menu.
I am just starting to dabble eating again now- steamed rice with a little tuna on it was as fancy as I could stomach.

It all looks delicious except for the couscous plate - it looks like a 5 yr old put that one together :)
what is it- a chicken neck & head? a chop?
On the plus side they don't seem to serve things up on a bread board instead of a plate.
I am THAT person who sends her food back when it is delivered on "wood" and asks for a proper plate.

The presentation of that couscous is not the best I agree with you. But as to eat it you mix it all together it is not dramatic.

A more "proper" presentation :

Not a fan of wood boards either.

Take care and get well !

since I'll be batching it for a few days, happy my beans have arrived

I always hated the Heinz beans with sausages in the can, however of late I am inexplicably & randomly craving them hahaha- I am pretty sure if I ate some I would not even consider eating them again for 20 years or more.... (I am much the same with liver)

Beans in tomato sauce (Heinz or the British version) are a definitive NONO...

People eat weird stuff for breakfast. I never got the baked tomato and beans that is in a typical English breakfast.

Toast, fried bacon and fried eggs is fine for a winter breakfast.
But I pass on the beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and black pudding.
And tea without milk please !
