I have mostly found higher grade quality meats in Indonesia somewhat lacking. Price vs quality, basically. At my local Abuba and other type restaurants I just stick with the “lokal” meat. Not planned. On the way to Depok, at jl. Juanda we stopped at Double U steak by chef Widhi.

Tenderloin wagyu steak, 250 gram. Australian Wagyu M4. We asked medium, we got slightly overcook on the thinner part. They apologized and offer to replace. We were too hungry, so we accept the meal as it was. Not bad at all, specially for the price (Rp. 260K++)
As good will, they served complimentary cream soup. Nice service.
I’ve had a decent 1kg Tomahawk at a Doubletree in Jakarta for my birthday, or maybe it was father's day. Not Wagyu, but nice tasting and tender meat. I recall it was a bit over 1jt. Shared it with family members.
Recent bought 1kg worth of Japanese Wagyu at Costco. Top grade, A5, I think. $100 a pound. It was nice, but I grew up poor, and can’t really enjoy it knowing I can Sous Vide a boneless chuck roast for $3 a pound. Grill it for 5 minutes afterwards, and it’s 90% of the flavor.
