Just for fun & to stop derailing the thread that was nothing at all to do with food & because eating out is never quite the same as home cooked food...
Today's menu here at my place is:
Breakfast: Scot's porridge/ homemade berry yoghurt
Lunch: Jacket potatoes- various toppings: cheese & chive/spicy tuna /just good old salty butter.
Butternut squash roast in olive oil & seasoned with turmeric & paprika
Dinner: yet to be decided but likely pizza
edit- I forgot to mention the green beans- we have a bit of a glut in the garden, so nice, fresh organic beans too
What's on your menu ?

I've been sick for the past few days and have been able to eat nothing but sourdough. Could be worse!

I'm starting to feel better today so breakfast was sourdough with fried eggs.

Not sure about lunch yet.

Jam on toast because someone drank most of the milk & then put the bloody carton back in the fridge with about 2 ½ mm left in the bottom of it didn't they!

I have had little to no appetite too for about 3 days- I fall back on toast/Bovril but I mainly lean towards fruit when feeling off rather than bread- fried food just makes me feel nauseous if my appetite is gone.
Today I'm also feeling better, hence the cooking.
Last cooking I did was Monday I think & I made up a huge batch of beef goulash.

Fruits with all its fibers would have a pretty adverse effect on my current condition if you catch my drift...

Breakfast: Usual almond milk soaked chia seeds with avocado slices, low carb homemade bread and multivitamin.

Veggie/apple (homemade) unfiltered juice. Need 'em ruffage.

Lunch: Homemade fried bacon (red/basmati) rice, some veggies, fried chicken and soup.

Dinner: Not sure yet.

we eat out most days and then Sundays I bbq chicken or burgers with mixed veg andmashed spuds or homemade chips/fries.
Sidenote, the other week I bbq'd my first ayam kampung....... tasted ok but was tougher than owlsh*t. Any advice for future attempts gratefully accepted

Re ayam kampung perhaps lightly poach/steam it before bbq. However it is always tougher than broiler chicken, yet much tastier.

Really begs a question, doesn't it...

You can try soaking overnight in milk or saltwater. Yogurt and beer are even better, if you have any spare.

*I'm not sure how beer will affect the flavor profile of owlsh*t. You might want to try something more acidic like wine.

I hear pineapple juice is great for tenderising steak not sure if it works the same on chicken, I guess the science of it should

Dinner ended up being goulash & a jacket potato.planning ahead to tomorrow, I have proper bacon & I have pasta & cream but no mushrooms... hmm I do have parmesan could be a pasta day or bacon sarnie day, or both :D depending on how lazy I feel :)

simple breakfast this morning: brown bread with edam cheese roasted in air frier.

Lunch very Indonesian menu: Steam white rice, spicy beef stir-fry with bean sprout and water spinach, and fried tempeh/tofu.

Tempe and tofu are our home made. Bean sprout and water spinach are our homegrown.

Since we live in a nice jail, we grow our own vegetablessuch as kale, kailan, spinach, water spinach, bitter melon, eggplant, thai/indonesian basil, sweet potato, bell pepper, chilly padi, star gooseberry, bean, long bean, red ginger, torch ginger, spring onion, Zucchini, ect.

Our weekly dose of nutrients tonight, chook liver & potato curry, Mrs cooks it so good, could never stand liver before this, you know either slimy, smelly crap or overcooked like eating an old thong (the flip flop type for you non Australians, not the ass crack type)

Today's quarantine menu at the Holiday Inn Express at Empo Pluit...
SOOOOOO MUCH F*CKING CHICKEN AND RICE!!!
Seriously, three meals = three rice and tiny-a$$ portions of chicken with some garbage veggies. I called the front desk and requested the western option with NO RICE starting with tomorrow's breakfast. The room is fine. The beds (long story why that is plural) are fine. I always try to look at the bright side of life, but the food is just ridiculous. It is similar to what one would get if a company requested boxed lunches but with a budget of 15k IDR per meal. Anyway, sorry about hijacking the thread; feel free to move it to that new hijacked discussion thread. Cheers!

No apologies needed... let us know what you get fed tomorrow
