Today's menu:

seriously, I like KFC. When traveling, I always try to stop by at a KFC restaurant - at least once. Even when visiting Cincinnati I purposely crossed the river just to eat KFC in Kentucky - nothing special, inferior compared to KFC in Europe.
In my opinion, the best KFC in the worlds I have been traveling is in Prague, Czech - big size, very tasty and juicy, nice color.
The worst, unfortunately is in Gorontalo - small, dry and ugly, probably refried.

Nothing wrong with some KFC once in a while @Balifrog

I'm an A&W man myself. Everyone always says A&W over KFC?? Yeah I said it! The A&W I get chicken from is much better than KFC. Perhaps since they get less orders, I get chicken that's more "fresh", who knows.
I'm more of a chicken sandwich man that a fried chicken man, if I'm going to order out. KFC's chicken sandwiches are aggressively bad, almost like they are trying to ruin the idea of the chicken sandwich in the minds of their customers.
McDonald's chicken sandwiches are better, at least I don't regret the order. I think my favorite from a chain here is probably Carl's Jr. Does A&W do a decent chicken sandwich?

I liked KFC in China, mostly for their delicious egg tarts. Egg tarts, yay!

Gotta say, KFC is one of my go-to meal when I'm out of ideas...wife says it's 'unhealthy' but it's healthier than indomie (which she eats...).

Try Tous Les Jours' egg tarts ... up by the cinema in PVJ , when it opens again obvs.
Yeah, those are delicious of they are the ones I am remembering. It's been so long since I went on a shopping mall!

Not sure about A&W's chicken sandwich. I stopped ordering them after tasting the awful quality of KFC's OR burger. Is that patty even chicken? It's very mushy.

My breakfast,

Probably for next few weeks.
I need to control my weight. Last weekend, my calf muscle partially snap (again) when playing badminton.
Can't do much exercise then.
I m easy to gain weight if I stop my daily jogging / treadmill. Just few days, my weight increase almost 2 kg.

Did you catch Olympic fever? Because from my balcony I can see a badminton court a few blocks away and every evening there's people playing badminton until late at night.

Anyway good luck on dropping some weight. I've been eating oatmeal every morning for a month and reducing carbs and still weigh the same. Annoying.

Not really. Nothing to do with Olympic fever. I have been playing badminton since I was very young and even played at the university level 35-40 years ago.
But then switched to tennis because my wife and children played tennis and it was not always easy to get a badminton court in the host country.
Still playing once a week in Cairo until February 2020 - after that stopped due to the pandemic.
It was only last week at my new host country that I was told that badminton court managed by other companies could be used.
Very enthusiastic when playing, I forgot that I haven't played in a long time. While doing the jumping smash, I heard clicking sound from my calf muscles; followed by deep pain.
Every morning I always burn at least 1000 calories by jogging or treadmill. So, once I stop or reduce, I have to offset from my meals.

@Wisnu Getting old sucks. I love weightlifting but get a sharp pain in my left knee if I bend down weird, so I'm forced to go lighter when doing leg exercises. I also opt for the elliptical or go for walks instead of running.

I quickly get bored doing cardio, so like you I mix it up by playing tennis. Well, "playing" isn't accurate, more like a disturbing dance while holding a racket. Do you have access to a swimming pool? Since you shouldn't jog maybe swimming can satisfy your 1000-calorie-burning cardio needs.

That's one of my plans, once I feel okay for 3 km cycling to the swimming pool, hopefully in 1 - 2 weeks.

Dinner last night.
A slight mishap, we planned to make a mix potato/carrots mash, but when proceeding we completely forgot about the carrots ....

Failure of the day :
I made some Boursin (garlic and parsley cheese) last month and it was pretty good.
Original product :

We made it again yesterday, and total failure on the texture part this time.
But, yep, in order to "improve" the product we changed a bit the process compared to last time, and that was probably a bad idea. In the bin it goes. Not a too expensive failure, 1 L milk and some garlic / parsley / oregano.
Ok, another try to come.

And back to my basic youth days menu for lunch today.
We have an air fryer, so pretty easy to make "freedom fries" (😂😂😂) without getting the whole house smelly .

This looks more like something I would cook. Fries and eggs are great together. Add a little vinegar based hot sauce and it is perfect. Although, being the American patriot that I am, I would call them French fries.

First time in a month ,i decided to eat in the restaurant, today I sneaked out of office and got some Mie Ayam Kangkung in Kota Wisata area.. aaah so yummy!!

I hope you had some Skyline or Gold Star Chilli while you were in Cincinnati! I am a huge fan of three-ways (spaghetti, chilli, & copious amounts of shredded cheddar) and coneys (small chilli cheese dogs) with no onions or mustard.

Yes, we stopped at Gold Star Chilly but not in Cincinnati, instead at Hamilton. If not travelling, , we spent more time in small city, Oxford, OH not far from Hamilton.
In Cincinnati, other than KFC we really enjoyed dinner at Prime Cincinnati - very good steakhouse. Love the Ohio wagyu and their 43 days aged ribeye. In fact, we visited twice.

I recall stopping at a KFC in Kentucky in 1987 or 1988, while taking a 2+ month driving trip around the US. They had an all you can eat night, which I’ve never seen at a KFC since.
