Sayur Asam Jakarta tonight as compared to Sayur Asam Central Java which so I'm told has more ingredients
Bit sort of blurry from the steam coming off it.

Keto diet is low carb but high fat right? I can use whole wheat flour, full cream milk and more butter. But i have no idea where to get the whole wheat flour from lolIf you make a keto version I'd pay!! (but probably too expensive to gojek from cibubur...).
No empal gepuk which Mrs Mac just explained to me & I forgot to mention the little salty fish & riceNothing better than sayur asam and empal gepuk or ikan asin, of course with steamed white rice Raja Lele or Thai jasmine.
No noo....whole wheat while 'slightly better' than regular flour it is still pretty high on glycemic index and carb load....I actually use combination of various flours (almond, flax, keto flour which in itself has different stuff..).Keto diet is low carb but high fat right? We always 'cook' the ayam first in water with 'santan' /coco nut milk/ with ingredient like salt, peper and 'sereh' /lemon gras/, milk will do too, before 'goreng' the ayam.we eat out most days and then Sundays I bbq chicken or burgers with mixed veg andmashed spuds or homemade chips/fries.
Sidenote, the other week I bbq'd my first ayam kampung....... tasted ok but was tougher than owlsh*t. Any advice for future attempts gratefully accepted
That looks yummy.Today's dinner
For me, a delivery from my favorite French restaurant.
Marrocan couscous, also called couscous royal, chicken, lamb, merguez sausage with semolina. Vegetables in a broth, and a bit of Harissa, a North African hot chilli paste.

The couscous being a bit too exotic for the Missus, she fried some chicken, and we got some mixed salad from the same place. And of course she made some cream and mushroom sauce...

All that was missing was a nice Rosé, but I have long learned that the stuff they sell here is not worth the money spend on it....
You making that lovely yellow coconut soup from scratch? I've never wanted to mess around with fresh turmeric and stuff, so if there is a packet I can just add stuff to, maybe personalize...I do love colourful food:

Although we have loads of turmeric growing in the garden I find it a real pain in the arse for cutting & peeling, it is too much like cutting glue & gums up my knives... so I cheat & buy dried ground turmeric these days & then I just chuck a load in with the veg & the stock- I fry off the veg a little first to release the flavours. You making that lovely yellow coconut soup from scratch?
