The Money Fight: McGregor and Mayweather

To All Boxing Fans in Jakarta,

The big “Money Fight between UFC fighter champion, Conor McGregor and boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be Saturday 26, August 2017. The fight will be at T-Mobile Area, Las Vegas, USA.

Do anyone know if the fight above will be televised in the local stations? As I recall, most boxing fights are televised at RCTI or TV One.

I was really excited about the Pacquaio / Mayweather fight, but then I learned that "Money" Mayweather has basically made a career (an undefeated one at that!) out of fighting like Brave Sir Robin. I doubt Mayweather will even try to knock out McGregor. Hence we will have another snoozer of a fight with a pre-ordained outcome.

Lennox Lewis says he will only watch if someone pays him to commentate. He would not pay himself to go see it and thinks it is a farce. I guess the world/fight fans will see.

So Mayweather knocked him out in the 10th, not unexpected really, well not exactly knocked out, but perhaps it should have been, surprised he lasted ten rounds

It was good entertainment, but obvious from the outset it was going to be more cash grab than anything competitive. They hyped up the fight really well and deserve their huge payouts.

Imagine if the world's best decathlete had a loud mouth, was very charismatic and managed to make people believe he could beat the world's best 1500m runner in a 1500m race.

I believe what we saw this morning was the 1500m runner jogging alongside the decathlete, getting people's hopes up, then deciding to turn it on for the final 200 meters. Nothing more than calculated entertainment.

Good fun nevertheless.

It was like watching a rugby player in a football match, now lets watch the football player try and play rugby - my analogy being if FM tried UFC he wouldn't last 10 rounds for sure

CM did very well but he was screwed from the start - go all out and look good and get tired, or just pussy around and go for points - in the end he did what was right - go for it, and try his best, but I still think the TKO was bad decision, only 2 rounds to go, why not leave it to the end, maybe that was CM strategy, to look tired, wheel in FM and get him with the sudden "refreshed" counter punch?

Anyway its all over now thank god

There would have been a riot if Mayweather knocked him out in the first round, mind watching boxing isn't my thing, I learnt very early in life that boxing is basically a mugs game, not many get to the top without addling their brains
