Change of details after death of wife /sponsor , Kitap holder .

Finally after riding the immigration rollercoaster for 60 days trying to change details , sponsor , mutasi paspor etc after my wife/sponsors death in late march today I sent a email of complaint to the Director Generals Dept outlining the problems I've faced both with the Banyuwangi office who processed both the new sponsors account and the change of sponsor application and the Jakarta office . I requested his /there intervention in resolving the problem . 2 Hours after sending the email I opened my sponsors account to see the sponsor change had been completed / approved even though I should never of had to lodge a change of sponsor application under the new rule PP 40 Pasal 160/2023 which automatically changes your marital status to Duda/widower and penjamin sponsor to yourself , self sponored when you notify them of the death . I spoke to the officer in Banyuwangi about the self sponsor change when I returned to cancel the change of sponsor application . He insisted it was a system error and said I had one choice , continue with the change of sponsor application which I did to avoid more arguments . The new sponsor change application in the e-visa system caused a conflict with the data he entered into the SIMKIM system when i reported the death causing both my sponsors and my personal account to be locked , as I mentioned it has been 60 days of back and forth , requests for more documents , revised documents , proof my wife had been my sponsor for the last 12 years , proof of our relationship , copy of my recent passport renewal receipt of payment , each time changing the status of the application from waiting confirmation to pending . And last week an email to say the system had deleted all previous documents uploaded and a request to upload everything again 17 documents in 3 combined , compressed files which i did . it had been 10 days today since I did that so I sent the email to the Director General . Problem fixed in 2 hours all due to an incompetent smart arse , know all in the local office over-riding the new system and using old , outdated rules and not knowing or ignoring current rules and not doing the mutasi paspor first which caused a major problem with the passport in the system being expired . Commiserations. Phew what a relief to finally get through it all. At 87, I wonder if when I meninggal dunia, and if I had to use the Banyuwangi office. I would have to provide a birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport, bank statements, kartu keluarga and a letter from my WNI sponsor explaining why I had chosen to die.

All because of an incompetent officer and 2 systems that aren't co-ordinated which conflict each other , There internal SIMKIM seems to have all the new rules incorporated and the E-VISA system which we got stuck with is just a hack job . Still didn't get the Self Sponsor after all the stuff up's and the Director Generals intervention , In for photos and biometric's for Mutasi Paspor on Monday , then Dukcapil for KTP / KK changes , then Kitap Extension to Semur Hidup . I'll either get the red carpet on Monday or a cranky officer , depends how hard the Director General kicked his arse .

No sign of the previous officer at the immigration office this morning when I went in for photos and biometrics for the Mutas paspor !!! Different officer , quite pleasant , spoke excellent English , photos and biometrics done in 15 minutes , should have approval and updated Kitap download sent to both me and my sponsor in 5 days . He obviously knew about the previous problem that I included in the complaint to the Director General where only my sponsor was getting the emails and explained that my email and phone number had not been included when my details were transferred to my new sponsors account by the previous officer !!! My email address and phone number have been added back to my details on my sponsors account so we will both receive emails again . Hopefully they've now got someone who understands the conflict with the 2 systems and has the knowledge to rectify problems rather than chasing there tail for 62 days .

I think this procedure is also wrong as I don't see why to take photo & fingerprint for just changing the number of the passport . This is normally done only on extensions of stay permits (including Visit Stay Permit to ITAS and ITAS to ITAP) .

should have approval and updated Kitap download sent to both me and my sponsor ... I included in the complaint to the Director General where only my sponsor was getting the emails ... My email address and phone number have been added back to my details on my sponsors account so we will both receive emails again ...

I think Immigration will not send email to both the foreigner & sponsor , even they knowing both emails addresses , as this is what happen to me : Immigration sends only to the sponsor (my wife) email . Besides they don't use email much , for example , I recently got my new KITAP only through the evisa's sponsor account .

To have full control of the Immigration's processes , I created (with my wife's permission) both the sponsor's evisa account + the sponsor's email address myself , so I have access to everything .

Would have thought the same regarding the request for photos and biometrics just for a number change but I got the email "sent to both myself and my new sponsor " the day after lodging the Mutasi Paspor application . Both my sponsor and my self had received all emails during the sponsor change up until it was approved when only my sponsor got the email and updated Kitap download . The officer obviously new that I'd mentioned it in the email to the Director General . When he said I would receive the approval email for the mutasi paspor he explained why I hadn't received the sponsor change approval email without me mentioning it . Luckily I have full access to my sponsors Email account to receive the Log-in codes to his E-Visa account . Regarding the Self Sponsorship it seems Jakarta have applied what I assume was the easiest solution to solving all the problems with the conflict in the internal SIMKIM system and the E-Visa system by approving the "New Sponsor" change so my brother in law is now my sponsor . After reading an older post regarding Self Sponsorship it seems I still needed to apply for a sponsor change but to Penjamin Diri /Self Gaurantor and quoted the new rule , not Ahli Penjamin / Transfer of Garauntor . The E-visa system has no provision for a self sponsor application it has to be done manually by an officer in the SIMKIM system so the details align with the automatic update . Obviously the original officer wasn't aware of this , Hence the reply that it was a system error when I returned with the updated Kitap and I would have to continue with the sponsor change .
