I was not aware and not realizing it even though many electronic systems and equipment such as Smart home (zigbee but still require internet), TV, treadmill, CCTV, solar system, ect are connected or require the internet. Indeed, we do have backup wifi but auto connect to limited devices. If there was an outage, could be for short period. I expect to receive automatic notification if this happened. No notification from Starlink though.A report today that Starlink has had a global network outage attributed to software. I wonder how Expat Ino members who now have Starlink are getting on. Perhaps now unable to read the forum.
Yes, I install ESE (early streamer emission) lightning protection with R 70m and certainly surge protector with dedicated grounding system as per IEC and PUIL requirement.You know what’s a bit risky with StarLink installations in this country? Lightning. So better make sure whoever puts it on your roof also takes care of surge protection. There’s no warranty btw.
No warranty, but I believe better than no protection.
