You can't have a live Dj. But you can have dance music playing which is the same thing but without the guy waving his arms about

DF is now a "restaurant" with tables in the dancefloor playing a "livestream" of a DJ from home on a video wall. And still has the nerve to charge entry fee. And close at 1

Meanwhile all the senopati bars are open and busy and one certain one named after a Florida city is busy but no camera phones allowed etc etc. Owned by Voldermort

Anies went for a surprise tour few weeks back fining bars that were too busy

Anyway not my business. I'm atheist thank God

I'm really surprised those venues are still open. Equally surprised that the Shangri-La was unable to keep this out of the media, given that it's the top hotel in Jakarta and well connected.

Yes the whole thing is a clusterfuck to coin a phrase

The idea was restaurants and "bars" can open for dining, 50% capacity, then spacing, and reduced hours, no live dj music or bands etc

Reality is different
Malls reopened expecting queues for Gucci etc
Some salons opened then closed then reopened
Some shops cannot open - bankrupt

Some don't open since they will have to pay rent full instead of possible agreed discount etc

Hotels closed then reopened expecting a sudden influx of invisible international businessmen? Instead just steady at weekend with local families scooping up the 500rb per night 5* hotels inc breakfast and tax? Bargain
Anyway if and when it ends, that is only the beginning. Apart from some tourism Bali spillover and some possible clients that HAVE to travel here, Jak will still be pretty quiet

Bali is doing ok from domestic tourism, every man and his 4 wives have gone to Bali these last 2 weeks, especially this week with 3 days of holidays for those who actually have jobs

Fingers crossed anyway, it will not be the same as before for a long time but you Indonesians are made of sturdy stuff, will survive and come back

At least Bali got some time to breathe and reboot and have a clean up.
The road outside my place still has a bloody big pothole though, hoped it might have been fixed during this lull.
