Second Home Visa (E33) - am I missing something?

... if it's possible to apply by our own. As I am considering of doing the same.
Just to advance this information :

I am sure you can apply by your own as this Visa does not require a sponsor .

As far as I know , for cases like yours , the online system was designed in a way that even if you want to hire an agent , this agent must have access to your personal account at evisa.imigrasi.go.id , in order to apply this Visa in your behalf .

I recently completed an Immigration process there (requiring a sponsor) , in behalf of my sponsor (my wife) , and although not a visa process , it was relatively easy .

I have tried many times registering as a user in their website in order to start the application online, but it doesn't really work. I am pretty sure my attachments (passport copy, photo) is all at the correct size. I wonder if others are having the same problem , and how do you solve it.? I have tried in different computers, emptied the cache, etc. Or is it possible the website intentionally doesn't work so as to redirect us to get things done through an agent only ?

I said above that the process was relatively easy but I did have problem to register my own account (some few months before I did the sponsor's account + ITAS to ITAP) . As far as I remember , I downsized the photo to 150kB and the passport's photo to 300kB (photos' limit is 2Mb) . I also made a change in the phone's number (included the '0' in my Indonesian phone no.) . So after 1 or 2 corrections (forgot) , the account was approved .

If you are in Indonesia I suggest you to ask face-to-face at any city's Kantor Imigrasi (it may have a computer at its front desk or better if you bring your laptop/tablet) , otherwise you can ask Immigration's (see contacts at https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/front/info/contact-us) .

I don't think so because last year almost 14 million foreigners came to Indonesia (see https://www.bps.go.id/id/statistics...anegara-ke-indonesia-menurut-pintu-masuk.html) and a similar number of them are arriving this year with many probably getting their visa online by themselves .

Besides that , it is a good 'business' for the Indonesian Government , so I assume the idea is to make foreigners get their visas as easy as possible . I have seem a good improvement during the last 20 years I have been dealing with the Indonesian Immigration .

Hi, can you give us the update if it's possible to apply by our own. As I am considering of doing the same.
Yes, encourage you to apply on your own - it was very easy to apply. Absolutely no need for an agent as no sponsor required. As sifus on this site like Marcus have mentioned, applying on own is significantly safer for your personal data, and you have full control of any further actions you may want to do in the future.

Stay permit (ITAS) is emailed almost immediately after you enter Indonesia.

Next step is to get SKTT issued (at Dukcapil - for Jakarta the office is on Jalan Letjend S. Parman). This has to be done within 14 days, and if you go in at 8 am you should be out by 8.30 am.

You'll have 3 months to go to the Kantor Imigrasi with proof of funds. i.e., deposit in national banks - there are about 4 or 5 of these. BRI seems good. You will need a letter from the bank confirming the deposits you hold.

I would suggest to complete the 'Proof of funds' part within 2.5 months. You will need to hand in your passport for a stamp - this takes 5 working days. Plan for three visits - First time I went they advised on the formats/documents required, second to submit and third to collect (anyone can collect with receipt). Photo/fingerprinting is not required.

At every stage - whether at Immigration or at Dukcapil, I found the staff to be professional, polite and very helpful.
