Quarantine back to 7 days starting December

We're now planning our first trip back to Indonesia (from Houston, Texas), since the pandemic started. We have flight reservations in July, so still quite a bit of time to get prepared. There'll likely be changes with policies, rules, quarantine time, etc., between now and then.

That said, I've started making inquiries about what we'll need to do based on the current situation. I have a checklist based on various posts here on the forum, and information from one of the quarantine hotels (Four Seasons Jakarta), who I might add were very helpful. I still have a few points of confusion however that I was going to ask here. In any case, here is my checklist:

1. Get a visa: go to "visa-online.imigrasi.go.id" and work through that process. This was what the Indonesia Consulate in Houston advised me to do. We will be staying for 30 days exactly, however my wife may want me to stay a bit longer. So an extension of the 30 days could be in play - we shall see.

2. Get vaccinated. Already did that last March - single dose J&J. Have the paper vaccine card.

3. Make reservations at a quarantine hotel. Too far in advance to do this. Four Seasons Jakarta is recommending one to two months before the arrival date. The person I spoke with is seeing an uptick in reservations, and expecting more in the coming months.

4. 72 hours before departure, get a PCR test, and have physical and digital record of this.

5. Download apps for digital records.

My confusion is about the final item. Four Seasons Jakarta is saying I'll need to get two different apps: 1: Peduli Lindungni and 2: eHAC (Electronic Health Card. I was able to find the Peduli Lindungni easy enough on the Apple app store. Looks like there's a registration process, which I'll need to process through. However, regarding the eHAC, the only thing I found was something from Australia on the app store. It just doesn't seem to make any sense. So based on what I've read on various posts here at Expat Indo, it seems like the Peduli Lindungni is all I may need. Is that true?
You can find the eHAC in the Pedulilindungi app. I landed on the 6th of Jan and I was trying to fill it up while walking to join the PCR queue, one of the staff saw me and told me filling up the eHAC is no longer necessary. I went through the entire procedure and reached my hotel without filling it up.

Planing 6 months in advance is simply not realistic and is a waste of time. Start planning 2 months before the trip and it is most likely that many of the required criteria will not exist anymore.

You should not apply for a visa now as you will have a maximum of 90 days to enter after the visa is issued.

That is something I somehow missed along the way - so very good to know. Thanks.

The main thing I'm doing in advance is getting the airline reservations in order. Will be using mileage points, and the seats for the best flights seem to be disappearing with the limited allocations the airlines have. Everything else is just about staying in tune with all these daily/weekly changes, and now is the starting time for those items.

Yes, book your tickets now, but everything else can wait as most of it is likely to change.

EHAC is within the Peduli Lindungi app, you don't need to download another app. On the home screen there are several icons, including vaccine certificate, test results, EHAC, etc.

In my checklist I think there's also a requirement for having proof of health insurance at this current time. If that's still a requirement in July, then not a big deal. Just so many little details, and everything has to be in order.

I'll be the first to celebrate if these requirements fade away in the coming months.

Which visa type do you indend to get?
Before thinking about any travel related requirements, it will be recommended to make sure your intended visa type is currently issued or stopped due to Covid.

In looking at the online visa website, I believe that it would be the VK (Visa Kunjungan). Of course that is for the current situation. If the Indonesian government goes back to the visa-on-arrival in the coming months, I would use that.

2. You should be okay. Just make sure you take a picture of it so you can upload it.

4. Some places will offer for the report to have a QR code. My wife and I did this to be safe. Also take a picture of the PCR Test.

5.

Luhut says it's going back to 5 days, and what he says consistently becomes reality in a Surat Edaran a few days later. Also, Singapore Airlines has said they will start flying to Bali February 16.

5 only if fully vaccinated 2x
7 if once
Aren't all WNA (adults) strictly required to be fully vaccinated? So the 7 days would only apply to WNI, or maybe WNA traveling with unvaccinated children or have medical exemption for no vaccine.

Well I am at Sydney Airport and Checked in for CGK with a 1 hour transit at SIN on SIA. It's good they have a PCR testing station at the International terminal with a 2 and a bit hour turn around.. if you have a departure ticket within 24 hours... at $A87 it's cheaper than the 1.5 juta I paid in Semerang to leave in April 2021... The Labs in Aus apart from this airport service are really slow like 4 days or more and around the 1.5 J mark as well... It's was almost Indonesian the hoop jumping to get all the paperwork in place to be ready to leave... So I got a good quarantine package at a 3 star for 7 days for 5.7J.. including pick up and the 2 tests... I am praying that the quarantine is reduced to 5 days in the next 14 hours before I get there ... Will keep you posted.

So, double vaccinated parents with unvaccinated baby = still 7 days quarantine although the baby is not allowed to get a vaccine?

So this new "double vaccinated" rule has me wondering about a couple things.

The Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine is considered to be equivalent to having the first and second dose of either the Moderna or Pfizer. In that case, it should be considered fully vaccinated - i.e. "double vaccinated". The same could be said of Astra-Zeneca or the Sinovax.

Or... by "double vaccinated" do they mean having gotten one of the boosters?

"Double vaccinated" is shorthand since almost all of the vaccines are two doses, however all official documents about foreign arrivals and quarantine state "dosis lengkap" (complete doses) and accept the single shot J&J because it is on the WHO list of valid vaccinations.

Does anybody know if it's been officially rescinded to o 5 days yet please? There is a lot of fluff in the press but is it official. The Hotel Kaisar isnt so bad for a. Cheap Heap but I'm climbing the walls on Day 2
