Quarantine back to 7 days starting December

Yes, I agree that hotel quarantine will have only very small contribution to keeping the numbers low since the virus is already spreading anyway. A few more cases that come from abroad probably would have only small impact so that it would make more sense to focus on other strategies, actions and restrictions. Of course, as long as there are those rules to be in quarantine for x days, we have to accept those rules.

Since I am not in Indonesia at the moment, I cannot really judge how difficult the situation is at the moment. But I heard from someone who is working in a hospital in Jakarta, that the situation in his hospital gets a bit more serious (not dramatic yet) at the moment. I think this is the main point we should focus on...hospital occupancy. Even if Omikron is not that deadly, a huge amount of infected people could still cause trouble in hospitals. Not saying that it is already an extemely worrying situation, but something we need to focus on.

On the plus side, they didn't close the gyms this time around or GBK.

If the cinemas remain open, it just shows how little common sense there.
Because you think there was any common sense in this Covigedon drama since the beginning ? And I am not only speaking about Indonesia, it was / is same in the West.
I saw a mom and her son at the pool in the resort I live in, ALONE at the pool, both wearing a mask..... Speak about common sense ...

On top of that, I doubt that most people use masks in a way that they really have a positive effect on their health. Anyway, Iam quiet before some people starting with some of their seat belt analogys or tell me that doctors and hospital staff also wear masks.😉

I never though common sense was being used from the beginning and the whole thing is becoming a complete joke at this point. That is why I laugh at the reason pkmm was raised to level 3 which is because of 'tracing'. Tracing been nonexistant since day 1.

The tracing thing is a joke.
It may work all at the beginning, when there are only a small number of "positives", and the number of "contacts" is controlable.
When you have 10's of thousands of positives, you will will have 100's of thousands of contacts. Which in turn have the next layer of contacts. It's exponential,.simple maths.
So you end up needing huge resources to track everybody, call them etc...
As in the UK where they ended up with 100's of thousands of people asked to home quarantine. This of course has an impact on daily life and the economy.
All the people at home are missed at their job ....(truck drivers, taxi drivers, nurses...)
So it doesn't work.
Which means that the whole QR pass / application / tracking thing is useless...
Personally, I don't have FB, Twitter, Insta because I dont want to give them my data. So I am SURE not gonna install an app that is permanently tracking my whereabouts !
Where I go, places I visit is my business, nobody else has to know about it.

What do you guys think at the moment? Will the hotel qurantine be abolished soon? As someone wrote here already, most of the countries in South East Asia do not demand a 5-7 days quarantine in a hotel anymore. And besides, the Moto GP event will take place in Indonesia soon (middle of March as far as I know...). I doubt that the Moto GP racer (plus their crew etc.) would agree to quarantine for 5-7 days since that would influence their whole schedule a lot, I assume!?

I don't think they'll reduce it while Omicron figures are going up like they are at the moment. Maybe mid-march when this wave is mostly over they'll consider it.

I saw a post that it is going to go from 5 to 3 and hints it will be abolished soon. How true it is, I do not know. Someone forwarded an Instagram post from Indonesiaexpat in a few WA groups. Where that page is getting their info, again, no idea.

The boss (Luhut) has spoken:
If cases continue to improve and vaccinations continue to increase, it is possible that on or before 1st April, overseas travellers will no longer carry out centralised quarantine,

Thank you for sharing.

As fas as I understood, 3 days applies only for vaccinated people. People who travel with a baby are still treated as unvaccinated people and, therefore, have to stay 7 days in quarantine, I assume?

I also asked a friend now who will also travel to Indonesia with a baby soon. She asked at the hotel today. They responded now that the Baby „follows the parents“. If the parents are 3 x vaccinated, the baby counts as 3 x vaccinated as well and, therefore, only 3 days quarantine.

I was surprised when she told me. Until today, I always heard that travelling with a baby leads to quarantine as unvaccinated People. I fear the hotel might be misinformed.

This website also states that it is „children follow the parents“ now:

See picture „International arrivals to Bali“ (section „quarantine“) there. Would be a good adjustment if it is true.

Then the next question is, would the current entry restrictions be removed and VOA returns?
