Greetings. I am new - hope this is not a question asked a thousand times before. I have a new bungalow business on Gili T. I paid a nice amount to arrange my Kitas last year and year one expires in November.
1. Do I need to go to Singapore again this year to get year 2?
2. Can I arrange Year 2 easily from the Immigration Office in Mataram or should I pay the notary heaps of money again to do it for me?
3. Anything else I need to know?
Thanks
Ken

A renewal can be done in country without having to leave. This can be done up to 5 times.

It all depends how much your notary is charging. It may benefit you to contact some agents and compare their service costs.

You dont really need an agent for this.. but using an agent, you might - read might - be able to save a few steps and visits, but you still need to be involved.. (I did my kitas myself, with help from a local who could speak the language..)

I am trying to do all the documents renewals bymyself. I am fed up to pay horrendous amount of money to get lousy service in exchange. MERP (this or next month) and 2nd KITAP renewal is on the list.

@Gili Ken

If it is too costly for you to get an agent, you can try do it yourself. Renewal should be more easier and straight forward (if you have already all requested documents/photocopies that is). Simply check if you have all the documents kan imigrasi wants. Give it a shot.... any problems get an agent and let him do his magic.

Providing your last KITAS was done thru Mataram Lombok your first move would be to pay them a visit & ask them for a list of the documents required, otherwise your first move would be to apply to Immigrasi where your previous KITAS was issued & ask them to transfer your details to Mataram Lombok.

Great, Thanks, I will go to Mataram Immigration then and ask them directly what I need to do - instead of going back to the notary who I am sure will say I should do it with him.

I did my 2nd KITAS in Mataram Immigration office last year and it only took one week to process, as nothing was sent to Jakarta (for renewals only). I also did it myself and it was pretty easy as I speak Indonesian, but definitely take your friend with you. I believe the requirements for KITAS, including KITAS renewals, have (yet again) changed since last year. In fact, every time I go to the Mataram Immigration office the rules have changed.:tape2:
