Jakarta bans gatherings of more than 5 people

Well, if you pointed at me.and told me to wear a mask, I would (with a smile) tell you to F.O. and mind your business, or fecking stay home.
Whats next, go in with a gun and play Sheriff ?
You would be the fool endangering others because you can't follow a simple requirement. Damn right I would point at you. Twice if need be and I don't smile.

What they really need to do is say don't share a vehicle with anyone who doesn't live in your home. If you live in the same home, it likely makes no difference if there is 2, 3, or 5 passengers in a sedan.

Or are those rules only for public transport like taksi and go-car?

What you say is logical but it would be impossible to police. There would be a lot more cars with groups and for police to determine which were family cars and which were illegal groups, they would not only need to see IDs but family documents. There would be the usual number who had forgotten their documents and each car check would take several minutes. There would be long queues and hold ups. Simply spotting the number of heads in each car is a quick scan.

@Lee Bale and everyone else who shared info about life in their little corner of Indonesia, thank you for sharing. It's very informative and helpful in those times or isolation.

Additionally, please don't be afraid to ask questions. There are no stupid questions.

Indeed, in some countries they already limit the number of people at one time in the store. This creates huge lines but not because of hoarding.

As to those dismissive remarks, clearly the isolation is not taking its toll on little kids only. 🤣

(2) In the case of making exceptions to termination

as referred to in paragraph (1), the leader of the workplace
must do:

7. more than 60 (sixty) years old.
c. implementation of Corona Virus spread prevention protocol

A link to the Google translate version would have sufficed.

The image in my previous post suggests that it only applies to transportasi daring (vehicles booked online like Gojek, Gocar) but a quote from the Jakarta Governor via detik.com implies it's for all private vehicles

"I don't smile" ....you said it all, sheriff !

How do I endanger you if you wear a mask and stay 3m away from me ?
Smile and keep cool amigo ! Would you American by chance ?

Proudly as if you must think that no one else would care about your rudeness to others.. If you can't follow a simple rule that everyone is required to wear mask, how could anyone trust you to stay at least a meter away. My experience is you can not because of how I have seen others act.

Went out for a drive, seems pretty much business as usual so far. As in, past 2 weeks usual. Quiet but not deserted.

Well, the mask also keeps the spit droplets and moisture out of our breath out of the surfaces that we pass by when we walk. Especially when you wipe your mouth, touch your face, scratch your nose, and then touch a bag of pasta that you put back and someone else picks up after...

If we ever find a cure for Covid19, we will unfortunately never find a cure for stuborness and stupidity. Some people will continue to believe that their alleged experience of life trumps the recommendations of WHO, of most government and of most scientists and doctors.
This being said, I would love to see someone, particularly a foreigner, saying with a smile to an indonesian cop to "mind (their) business, or fecking stay home".
For the record, here is an excerpt of what Presiden Jokowi has declared on Monday April 6th:

"Kita ingin setiap warga yang harus keluar rumah untuk wajib pakai masker"

Following this presidential request made on Monday april 6th, cops in my region have started to order all people wandering in the city without a mask to go back home. And for having witnessed it, they ask politely and with a smile but they are not keen in having any smartass arguing the toss.
In many region, the police has already started to distribute free masks for the poorer

I did it too and a few times, but never when/if my stance was possibly endangering people who perhaps don't have the financial means to protect themselves or cure a decease I may transmit them.
Beside being foolish, not wearing a mask when you can afford one is fucking selfish.

People not wearing masks these days should be viewed with the same disdain as someone who smokes indoor. And the latter is actually much less offensive in my opinion.

On the subject of being stubborn, Dr Fauci was quoted yesterday saying that we should probably never go back to shaking hands. The backlash commentary from people was as if he insulted their mothers.

Objectively viewed, shaking hands is the dumbest of activities: It has zero tangible benefit, while it has definite drawbacks. I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of economic loss (people getting sick, missing work, etc) from shaking hands is in the billions of dollars each year, even without Covid19
