HELP in getting Indonesia Passport without KTP

My story is really complicated but anyway here it is:

I was born in Indonesia but came to Singapore at 14 months old as my father is a Singaporean. Mum is Indonesian tho. Couldn’t get Singapore citizenship so stuck with Indonesian. Somehow couldn’t get Singapore PR as well.

Now I’m 24 years old in Singapore on Short Term Visit Pass. My Long Term Visit Pass/Student Pass has all expired.

My Indonesian passport is expiring on September 2018 and I need to renew it but from what I read, renewing in Singapore requires you to be some form of citizen (whether it’s ltvp or pr or student pass), but I’m on Short Term Visit Pass. Next option is to go to mainland Indonesia. And from what I read, you need KTP to do a passport. BUT I’ver never been issued a KTP before in my life. I’ve stayed in Singapore my whole life and always renew my passport in Singapore (when i still had a student pass back then). All this also was done with the help of my mother as well.

My mum has stayed in Singapore for the past 25 years and from what I know, she does not have a KTP as well. It is easy for her to renew her passport in Singapore because she has a LTVP from marrying a Singaporean. But not the case for me.

So right now, I’m really confused as to where I can renew my passport. I really want to renew it in Indonesia to get the e-passport but from what I read online it is just so confusing. I don’t always go back to Indonesia and my Bahasa Indonesia is barely there. My whole family lives in Singapore anyway.

Would be greatly appreciated if you can give me so clues and lights into my current plight right now. xx

What are you on about kratos...helplessgal93 has already stated he/she is an Indonesian citizen and is only looking for advice on how to renew the RI passport.

According to what I read.....to renew an RI passport at the Embassy a Singapore ID (student pass, drivers license, etc)..... anything which indicates you are legally residing in Singapore is required. If you are living in Singapore as a tourist then you can only apply for a renewal passport in Indonesia.

BTW I'm surprised you could not attain a Singapore PR ...I'd think that Singapore Citizenship could also be available...due your parents.

She was talkin about KTP, KK and that would require birth certificates....
Theoretically should be easier to apply for Singapore PR than getting KTP.....

Sorry to hear about your troubles. You are indeed in a difficult situation. In order to renew in Indonesia, you will have to get the relevant documents in order. This process is not simple, as it sounds like you will have to start from zero (no KK, no KTP, no immediate family in Indonesia).

Do you have any family in Indonesia you can stay with for sometime? It will likely take awhile to get all this in order. You will have to start with "Surat Keterangan Datang Dari Luar Negeri Bagi WNI", which basically means you are a returning citizen. Here is the process for Surabaya, but it is more or less the same elsewhere: LINK

As you can see, that alone will take up to 14 days. After you have that, you will be issued your own KK, and you can proceed with KTP from there.

What are your chances of obtaining Singaporean PR (or any other country) based on your family's situation?

Alternative long shot solution: You can try contacting the numerous visa agents in Singapore and see if they can help with the passport. They have contacts within the RI embassy in Singapore, and embassies have usually some discretion in cases such as this.

It would help if you identified where is 'here'.....

I believe when you are born in Singapore you should have been issue birth cert by the hospital. Why did not you opt to enter NS before 21yrs? If your father is Singaporean why not get help from CC in your area. Anyway you and your mother should go to Indonesia Embassy and explain your situation or you can opt to go to the website and drop email to them if no reply then need to go down to settle it. In my opinion coming down to Indonesia is not easy unless your know people who know people inside. My 2 cent thought.

If I not mistaken since he still a minor at the time and the family especially the father is Singaporen he can opt to server National Service and will get to be Singaporean. That what I know. Not sure if it is too late now. He could ask the MP in his town council.
