The reason the Educational system is going downhill, especially in The Unites States, is the current administration wants to dumb down everyone, so they will not think independent thoughts, and come up with new innovative ideas! They only want the Wealthy to have proper educations, to follow in their parents footsteps, and become the modern Lords over the modern Peasants! That way all the lower classes, will do all the work, while the Upper class sit back and eat Cake!
The new head of the Education department misspelled artificial intelligence (AI). She said (A1), Which is a sauce made for cooking steaks,And said all children should have it in elementary school! This is only one example of many of the new appointees, that Trump has put in as heads of major important Government departments! Example: the new Head of The Dept. of Defense, has twice now posted highly classified military operation information over a public website! So anyone has access to the information? Instead of appointing qualified people to these positions, he has put in people that will kiss his boots! And do his bidding and not whats best for the Country!
Now that almost everyone has a Smartphone, this is Unacceptable! For Example, I use Google Translate almost daily here to convert Bahasa English, to Bahasa Indonesian. It is an excellent way to learn a new language. Not only does it spell the word, but it even pronounces it also! But, A major thing I don't like about it, is how it pronounces words in Bahasa Indonesia! It uses a low soothing voice for Bahasa English, and a high Nasal voice for Bahasa Indonesia! Which sounds unnatural to me?

I can't find the source for my post at the moment; sorry. I believe that the age of 15 years is used because the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) looks at how well 15-year-old students are prepared for life.

If the student doesn't learn the year's teachings in Mathematics, then they should not be allowed to advance to the next grade! Plain and simple. After another year, the same! Allowing these students to advance upward every year without learning basic Mathematics, will only hurt them, and the country. A major problem here in this country is people are not encouraged to think independently! For example, try to introduce a new type of food, say Sauerkraut, Pickles, Kim Chee, or Thai food, to a person here in Bali, and they will say, We don't eat that here! As if the entire group of People here are all the same!
And as far as I know, most Governments in the World, only allow the History being taught to be what the Current Administration wants the People to know. Example = America, and Australia teaches that the White European settlers were welcomed into the countries, and lived in Harmony with the Indigenous People already there? I don't know what is being taught here about the Suharto Presidency? I do know Educating the young people, is the future for the country, so it should be done well and be the No. 1 priority!

In the US it probably varies by state, but when I was in grade school many years ago we learned that relations between European and First Nations people was fluid, varying over time and location from the Europeans being tolerated or bailed out of famine to open warfare and massacres on both sides.

That's the lie I was previously talking about. They taught us what they want us to learn, Not necessarily the Truth! In America, they Taught that Christopher Columbus discovered America. A lie! He never made it to the Mainland. He reached the Caribbean islands, and brought violence, and Disease! And They taught us the Thanksgiving Fable, about how the Native Indigenous people welcomed the Pilgrims with open arms, and they had a big Feast together. Look what happened to America, and Australia!

This is a major problem in Indonesia. They tend to cherry pick examples and policies that allow them to make more money, while ignoring the responsibilities that come with them. You can clearly see this mindset in sectors like hospitality, local government, customs, and taxation.

Take accommodation prices in places like Bali and Jakarta, for example. They often base rental rates on Western standards, yet the buildings and safety measures are constructed with much lower-quality materials and practices. Land, construction materials, and labour are all of inferior standards. Not to mention rubbish collection, road/street, drainage for foul water, river condition, etc as discussed in this thread is hardly included into the equation.

You’ll find villas partially made of bamboo renting for over Rp10 million a month. Certainly, there’s still a nice market for these kinds of properties, mostly from people who don’t do thorough research. But as usual, it's only a matter of time before the bubble bursts, and most people end up losing out. Also wait until @Shadrach shout about the environmental impact of too much bamboo, have been used, forest are replaced with bamboo plantation.

Thanks for thinking of me! You're So thoughtful! And you shout out Love, Love, LoveI you must be becoming a Hippie! I think it's great using Bamboo. It grows so fast and is really strong because of its round shape. I really like the Work done by The Bamboo school, and The Green village! Such creative designs. The nice thing about bamboo is that it grows so fast you don't need so much acreage to produce plenty for construction!
As for deforestation. The Palm Oil industry has that covered!

So you're saying they have two separate bins, they mix it up, and then sort it again? Dealing with waste is supposed to be something People want to do, to keep the Planet clean! Not make profit off of it!
So Sad about the cigarette butts! It seems to be a problem here, stemming from Childhood. It's just not a priority taught to the Children. The same with Cooking, Nutrition, World Geometry, Etc.
This subject keeps going around and around, and just doesn't get solved! The Only solution is Simple! Force the Manufacturers of Plastics, use a Biodegradable Substance to make the Plastic! Now it's made from Petroleum, if I'm correct? Why not use a Vegetable Oil, or something like Seaweed? Anything is fine, as long as it is Biodegradable, and breaks down into a Non Polluting substance. I'm sure with all the smart people in the World now, and AI, there must be an alternative!
When I see the Beaches, Rivers, Streams, Valleys, completely covered with Plastic, I Get so Sad!
If this doesn't affect a Person, then I feel Sorry for them! Probably there will be a Troll that criticizes me for saying this. Why, I don't understand? But I am not a Scientist, or an Engineer, so I don't have a solution.
Instead of spending Trillions of Dollars, on War and Military equipment, Use this Money to fund Research on Stopping Cancer, Childhood Leukemia, Etc, and How to make Plastic, as Organic as a Banana Leaf!

Yes that money could well be used for other pressing needs like trash disposal and sewage treatment.
Ideally a waste disposal solution that doesn’t involve chucking it into the sea can be implemented.
