Economical agency to do Spouse KITAS to KITAP uograde?

I've been married to my Indonesian wife for almost 4 years now, and see I'm eligible for the KITAP upgrade. Can anyone suggest an economical agency to do all the dirty work. We live in Serpong, near BSD. Alternatively, can anyone comment on how easily this process can be done without an agency?

It’s very easy, as long as you have all documents available and always consider you do everything in name of the sponsor/garantor (i.e. your spouse).

I would never spend that extra 10-20 juta on an agent esp. since the dirty work is not so dirty anymore.

Yes , after 2 years being married in Indonesia (or , if the case , 2 years after registering your foreign marriage in Indonesia) you are eligible to convert your ITAS to an ITAP .

I had a Retirement e-ITAS with MPP Travel from somewhere in Jakarta (reasonable price but never met them because I dealt with their associate in my city) .

Alternatively, can anyone comment on how easily this process can be done without an agency?

Many members here had experienced doing it and similar online processes themselves and it doesn't seem too difficult .

It's pretty easy to do it yourself, and there isn't really anything an agent can do to help anyway

My Indonesian wife did all the processing throught the various visas and now have "permanent" KITAP but that was before the requirement that applications be done on line. I need to get a new MERP soon but as my wife is not great with computer systems we will use a local computer shop to help us through. It will be minimum cost compared with going to an agent.

Just make sure that everything you have is scanned in. Fancy word for make a good quality picture with your cell phone.

Officially on their website they state they require only the KITAP and passport for a MERP but in reality they want everything.

So even marriage certificate, surat (statement) from your spouse with materai, her KTP, her pass-photo (yes really!), etc.

So have the pictures and passport scan in jpeg format, and all the rest in pdf, but also combined into one document. That one you need to upload in the ‘guarantee info’.

Sounds more difficult than it is.

What I am thinking to do : I send (through Whatsapp) or bring (in an USB flash memory) to my neighborhood's toko photocopy all required photos & PDF files I have in my cell phone and/or computer , and the toko's owner make the single PDF for me . But as I am not sure he can put all of them in a single (up to) 5MB PDF file , I will learn how to downsize a PDF file in my Linux computer .

Doing something for the first time is not easy but I see it as an exercise for my brain , a good think if you are not pressured by very limited time .

Couldn't create an account , I'm now looking at a 3 day return trip from the bottom of South East Java , Purwoharjo area to Surabaya 7 hours north to the Australian Consulate . Dreading when I have to renew my Kitap next year with the new online e-visa system . Fine for all these tech savy new gen's but for someone who doesn't use a smart phone and only uses a laptop to keep in touch with family back in OZ it's a bloody headache . Doesn't help when you don't get a reply to email's or facebook messages . It's all whatsapp , instagram etc now . I'll be doing a walk in at immigration when my new Kitap is due and playing dumb .

Open a new MS Word document. Insert all the pictures you need for your application. Then Save As .pdf document. Done.

Various Methods.
First Method: take picture as usual, covert them to PDF and combine them

• Take all the pictures you need as usual, it will be in jpg or jpeg format,
• Covert all of them one by one to PDF using Free online PDF tool such as ilovepdf https://www.ilovepdf.com/
• Combine all of individual PDFs to become a single PDF, again you could use the same ilovepdf Free online PDF tool.

Second Method, using Google Drive.
This will be the easiest one if you already have google drive. Keep in mind you get free 15GB google drive with your gmail account.
Just take the picture within your Gdrive (e.g you will see camera icon if you open your Gdrive). It allows you take several picture before it is saved to Gdrive, All of the pictures will be automatically combined before it is saved to your Gdrive.
If I remember correctly, it also works with other free cloud storage services such as 'Dropbox (until 2GB)'

Third Method
Install free PDF Scan tool apps, the well known one is 'Adobe Scan'

Scan your business documents on-the-go and forget about piles of paper.

Work the same way with Gdrive. Each document you scan will be given in PDF, if you press 'keep scanning' it will keep combining the document yu scan until you press 'save' onece you save it it will automatically combined in single PDF.
This will give you the best result if you are willing to install additional app on your mobile.

Fourth Method
Ask someone else to do it for your for a fee. Just go to the computer shop on the high street, or shopping mall with all of the documents you want to scan and combine. Ask them to do it for you for a fee.

I have personally tried method 1 to method 3. For method 4, I heard, read the story of people doing that.

You could also prints screen the images copy and paste one by one to word document, and then print it or convert to a single PDF file but typically, it this will produce a large size of file with lower resolution.

Fifth (and easiest) method:

Print or save to PDF. You don’t need tools or subscriptions or even a wordprocessor for that.

Select the images, choose “Save as PDF” or “Create PDF” on a Samsung Galaxy for instance or “Print” on iPhone. In the latter pinch out on a picture and all of them will be together, and then “Save to files” creates a PDF with all pictures you selected in there.

For me the conversion was because you can only renew Kitas so many times (it’s like 4 or 5) before you need to do the whole initial process again and apply for a new one. This also requires you to leave Indonesia for a year.

On top of that a one year Kitas with merp is now 4 juta. So in the long run the Kitap for 5 years at 10.5 juta is cheaper.

The process was simple other than trying to get all the documents into two 5 Mb files. In the end I needed to set my scanner to 70 DPI to get the initial files small enough.

If you don’t count the holidays the total process took 2 working weeks for conversion from Kitas to Kitap.

before you need to do the whole initial process again and apply for a new one. This also requires you to leave Indonesia for a year ...

Now you don't need to leave Indonesia if you apply for the "Bridge" Visit Stay Permit before applying again for the KITAS .

But if you choose to leave Indonesia , I think you can come back in the same day (or at least the next day) , with any new visa , but before leaving you need to properly cancel the KITAS (getting an Exit Only Permit/EPO) .

As the rules keep changing I am not sure if my experience is still relevant. I had been married with my WNI wife for about 4 years before returning to Indonesia and beginning with SOS. Then applied for and got Kitas and near the end of year one could then appliy for Kitap without having to have several successive Kitas.
After 5 years with Kitap then obtained the "permanent" Kitap and am due to report at the end of the 5 years which happens mid next year. At no time did we ever have to leave for the Singapore and return run and neither did we ever use an agent. Tedious and complicated but still achieved without unusual extra complications. All done in Bali, by the way.

I am married for 24 years to, and sponsored by my Balinese wife, who is set up in the online Immigration system, as an approved sponsor. Last year I had an agent handle my second Kitas extension, but am curious how difficult it might be to do, by ourselves online. So I am now on my third year Kitas, sponsored by my wife. One of our daughters just converted her visitation visa to a one year Kitas for family unification, via the online system. It went quite smoothly. Any informed and timely input greatly appreciated. I hate searching online through the official resources, as it is like a dive into Dante's Inferno. There typically is self contradicting information, depending on where one looks.
Now I am trying to figure out if I should apply as the parent of an Indonesian citizen? As our 18 year old son still has dual citizenship at this time, and a KTP.
Or just use the family unification format?

No-one on a spouse visa should be using an agent. There is literally nothing that the agent can add to the process. Just go to the immigration office and do it yourself. If you don't know what documents you need, then they will tell you.
Also after 2 years you should get a 5-year KITAP not another KITAS
