Earthquake in Bali

I live in Kerobokan, Bali and the shaking was the severest that I, and others who have lived in Bali for years, have experienced. It came in two waves with a couple of seconds between, for maybe 15-20 secs, but shook our house enough I got out of bed.....now that's serious. My wife and I ran to the street....lucky I was wearing shorts.
Haven't seen nor heard of any damage but I'm sure those nearer the epi-centre, which would be Nusa Dua, might have something to report.

Be fair Anglian...the Jakarta Post was printed about 3 hours before the earthquake struck...I was reading the digital version of JP as the tremors started...so that isn't up to date news.

It's now over 3 hours since so all news agencies have the story but a pity some have it wrong. Some have the wrong time, some the wrong location and many quote the wrong richter scale.

Thank God you ran into the streets wearing shorts or there may be a side story developing for the JP.

hahahah...Yes...I can see the headlines...

C'mon folks...give a guy a break...it's well known it shrinks when scared!

Wheee....that was a bit of fun....

Definitely the strongest one I've felt in Bali so far. It also lasted longer than any other I remember. So far no damage reported, although if it was just a tad stronger I'm sure some damage would've occured.

Smaller tremors are quite frequent...but recently it felt more often. About 1 a month or so...maybe they were a build up for this one.

OK, no problem, but also to be fair, the digital Jakarta Post isn't internet news... more a magazine and tease to subscribe to the digital paper version...which I do since they upped the Bali cost for paper delivery.

The free Jakarta Globe IS an internet newspaper, is generally up to date, and has lots of pictures...

I will take a look at the Jakarta Globe got pictures that should make it easy for me, it's a funny thing I've noticed on several tremors I've felt over the years, when people run out their house they are always looking up, looks a bit strange but I suppose they are looking for flying tiles and other debris,

I guess they may also be looking up to see their savior...or for an alien invasion. In my case I looked down....and was pleased to see I still had shorts.

There's a couple of pubs near me that say 'No shirt...No shoes...No problem.' ......but I've never seen one publicizing 'No shorts.'

Well, a good thing everybody seems to be fine. We have some family members stay there now but luckily no real issues.
