I suppose a lot of us read the Jakarta Globe and such but here is the latest on the protest this coming Friday:
And we can always trust the FPI to be truthful and keep their promises.

There is a possibility that former terrorism convicts will join a large demonstration against non-acting Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, which is planned for Friday, an official has said.
“They are now in several spots. They are waiting for the right momentum,” National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) chief Comr. Gen Suhardi Alius said on Monday, as reported by tribunnews.com.
Can they say this? I mean, its their rally, their people... if anything happens the point is that they are responsible right?
- The GNPF-MUI will not take responsibility for any actions that are not in accordance with the agreed arrangements.

So apparently after estimating 10,000 people, they are now down to 80 (yes, eighty, no zeros missing), and those 80 decided to not walk after all.
Definitely seeing a lack of motivation here, probably due to lack of "funding"...
Where are they headed in particular- I ask cos I don't have a lot of time to read through news & lots of posts & hubby is playing at JakCloth this Friday ... I hope it is safe.
Parkir timor something or other- is the place.Supposedly, they've agreed to limit the demonstrations to Monas and it's supposed to go from 8am until 1pm. After 1pm, they are supposed to disperse. But who knows what will happen on that day.
If it were to move from Monas to elsewhere, I assume it would be the DPR, Sudirman, Bundaran HI, the Presidential Palace.
If there were to be riots like we saw last time, I assume it would be in the northern areas with large Chinese-Indonesian populations from Pantai Indah Kapuk to Kelapa Gading.
Is JakCloth in Bekasi? If so, I think it's far enough from the demonstrations and potential hotspots.
How is he going from Bandung to Jakarta? I'd be more concerned with crowded trains. As for traffic in the city, I anticipate it will be fairly quiet as many people are not going to work/school that day. But better to plan enough time and not drive through the center.
Saturday is a day off work, no point in demoing on your day off work, spoil the weekendI hope the government is not making bad decision to allow the (anti-Ahok) prayer rally and the labor union demonstration to occur on the same day on 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Dec. Why issue two permits for Friday when the other one can be on Saturday (for example)?
