So if a vaccine (Sinovac) only reduces my chance of hospitalization by 65% and/or reduce severity (if I ever got infected) by...say 50%...if that's the case I'll take 65% and 50% instead of 0%.
Speaking of vaccine....I got mine on Saturday, feeling fine up until last Monday,, but started feeling on and off (mild) lethargic..fstarting Tuesday and lack of a better word 'panas dalam' (the heck is an english phrase for it??)...nothing that a panadol can't fix...but it was going on maybe about 4-5 days, combined with a bit of light sniffles and sneezing for half a day. Had a really stressful day this past Friday, that didn't help..but after some more panadol (flu/cold) and a bit of melatonin to help me sleep...finally I'm feeling like 100% today, hope it was just a case of my body taking a longer/delayed time to deal with the vaccine.
About this PPKM...we'll see if it's 'really' effective to reduce the numbers...as even though the malls and streets are closed...the cabin fever jakartans, are just hanging out with their neighbors....in my neighborhood complex this morning, saw a few bapak bapak sat around in circle by the security posts...talking with their coffee, snacks and cigarettes (so no masks)....and a couple families having picnics at the estate's park with about 5-6 kids running around...all no masks of course. I could only imagine it's much worse in some of the more crowded areas/kampungs (as I ready cynical updates from some folks in my whatsapp about 'ppkm happens only in the tolls/main streets but not in neighborhoods..) hope I'm wrong.
