How do you guys invest?

Not a very good strategy. Looking at that spread I'm going to send my dollars to Sinarmas (who have almost no spread) rather than BCA.

Not fun watching my US stocks...but thank goodness my broker pulled out at least 50% of my Indo ones back in November-December last year and it was due to something else non-Corona obviously...so at least 50% of it is safe from the Bursa Efek bloodbath.

It has really been a rollercoaster lately. Up 5%, down 12%, down 8%, up 10% ......

It seems life is picking up in China again. But who will they sell to?

I'm glad to have somewhat diversified to defensive stocks (food, grocery stores) so they have held up and/or increase their value so far.....but yeah, retiring soon with current portfolio, I am not.

16600/$. This is already crazier than 98 and the big problems like bankruptcies and demos haven't even started yet.

Seems that investors / market participants are still very nervous. I would be surprised if we did not see significant changes and high volatility on the global stock markets again today.

Makes me regret a bit not buying the dollar/Sing Dollar when it was pretty good about two weeks ago...I thought..unless you're buying upwards of 20-30 grand...from Rp 13,900 down to 13,700 wouldn't matter much...hindsight is always 20/20 I guess.

2 weeks ago we were dancing at 15 for euro (I was, cos my client sent me 47,500 euro lol) now I wish he had waited a week we would have got 18 for it

Anyway it steadied today down to 17, we shouldn't be greedy, it will be back at 14 by xmas

Couple more weeks of this and regardless of COVID, it will be dangerous going out for fear of being mugged, certainly will be walking the pavements with the light wallet sans watch and fancy phone. Don't want to be a mugging victim for the sake of a hot meal for a poor gojek driver

With the recent news (OPEC & Corona), I saw some opportunities and extended my position in Shell and Gilead.

Meanwhile, I also built my first position of Shell. I am not a big fan of oil related companies, but from a purely financial perspective, I see an opportunity there at the moment. But that is only my personal opinion, no recommendation :)

I just got into swing trading using TD Ameritrade’s Thinkorswim platform. I lost thousands a couple of months ago when the market tanked while I was holding MSFT and GOOG. Thankfully I have recouped those losses through TSLA and UBER.

Armed with the knowledge gained after hundreds of hours reading, watching video tutorials, and practicing paper trade, I feel much better about my investments regardless of market direction.

I’m watching MRNA (maker of Covid vaccine) and CODX (maker of Covid test kits). Might get in if I see a good entry point.

Yes all that studying and Trump wakes up in a bad mood, tweets, and you lose 30% lol
Trump tweets are not always a bad thing actually. If I’m shorting a position, a 30% drop in price is a 43% gain for me. Thank you Mr. President!

Another thing: while index funds can be influenced by statements from the Fed chairman or Trump, individual stocks are influenced more by catalysts (events) specific to them. Trump tweeted to support Tesla the other day, and as far as I could tell the effect on the stock was negligible.
