Their First cabin has gone downhill the last few years in the catering department.

Because of all the hairy begpackers we now have to fly for 11 hours with only a bowl of mussli, two veggies sandwiches and a drop of patchouli oil! World standards are falling generally as saving on the service means people who don't know what service is can now fly.

Oh, I think the Air Asia model is fine.

Many of the full service lines have very high salaries and benefits. If everything in the world economy isn’t going perfectly, then they’re going to have problems.

Business class and first class (If on a 3 or 4 class airplane) often contribute more to profit than all of economy. CX’s penny pinching in those cabins have driven some very profitable customers away.

Yeah the model nowadays is to offer a real low cost carrier and an upscale airline. Bit like Garuda (Citilink), Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, ...

And Cathay Pacific refuses that model.

With three classes, I do feel the C suffers somewhat by having a F btw. The suites obviously are great and amazing, but the business class seems better on a two class plane. And the more narrow the plane, the better (1-2-1 layout).

Plane forced to make emergency landing after one passenger's "unbearable" body odour makes others VOMIT and faint.

A plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a passenger's "unbearable" body odour caused other holiday-makers around him to VOMIT and faint.

The Transavia flight to the Spanish holiday island of Gran Canaria was forced to make an unexpected detour when travellers became distressed by the stench of a man who "smelt like he hadn't washed in weeks".

The man smelt so bad other passengers started to faint and vomit after the flight took off from Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.
Staff on board the Transavia service reportedly tried to quarantine him in a toilet of the Boeing 737 before the pilots were forced to divert the flight.

They landed in Faro in southern Portugal so the foul-smelling man could be removed from the flight.

A picture taken by one of the passengers shows medical personnel escorting the man from the aeroplane into a bus.

Belgian passenger Piet van Haut was one of the passengers on board the plane and described the stench of the man as "unbearable".

He said: "It was like he hadn't washed himself for several weeks. Several passengers got sick and had to puke."

Transavia confirmed the emergency landing saying it was due to "medical reasons".

It is not known if the medical reasons related to the man or other passengers on the plane who were ill due to the stench.

Yes, they check the ramps
The things that go from the gate to the plane

You mean the government is going to clean those filthy ramps at last...that's novel...I'll look forward to holding the handrail without getting covered in sticky rice...:thumb:

A Technical term not really know by pilots, it means all maintenace has been done, all defects cleared, no carried forwards, all the crews correctly licensed, etc, etc, sometimes at has been know a little brown envelope does the job

That, as well as urine check for pilots and cabin-crew for narcotics, blood pressure etc.

No, only check
The "cleaning" contract is still up for grabs lol

Maybe they will plant some fake trees all the way down the middle

I thought that was a normal procedure for every flight....except for the little brown envelope...never saw one of those.

I would do 10jt but in 20's so it looks like a big envelope hahaha

I've been retired for a while and security is much tighter than in my day..... but I'd think doing urine tests on a B747/A380 20+ crew on the ramp may be a bit impractical.

It does remind me of an oldie....
Snortin' Capt. Jack was waiting for his random urine test in the medical office. He'd transferred a phial of urine his wife had prepared into his own cup and gave it to the nurse.
She came back and, while Capt. Jack was wiping some white powder from under his nose, she said "Your drug test is negative but....congratulations....you're pregnant!"....:preggers:

Yes ramp checks are done on every turn round or night stop, but in this context it’s the DGAC will carry out checks, any irregularities found will ground the aircraft till this have been rectified, it could actually incurre a fine,
I have know the DGAC carry out a ramp check and ground an aircraft due to carry forward defects not being rectified, I’ve grounded a Airbus with passengers loaded when I found a A check hadn’t been done, lots of unhappy passengers, I’m afraid aircraft maintenance is a low priority with some Indonesian airlines, the majority of DGAC are good but there are a few bad apples
