Lifetime Kitap processing time

Your Kitap number and passport number are both on the KK (box 14, box 15), so it is possible that in theory you have to get it updated each time one of those changes.
However since a KK has no expiry date, hopefully it doesn't cause a problem if you just leave it as it is.
Having said that, I wonder if they would refuse to issue the new KTP until the KK was updated? I can't remember whether or not you have to submit your KK when you apply for a new KTP.
Correct. The passport coloumn is for Indonesians as well.

Thank you! I see those numbers now! Yes - I am being asked for KK to renew KTP & SIM. What a pain!!!! Does anyone know if the KTAP SH number changes again at the 5 year reporting? That would be crazy - every 5 yrs a new KK??!!!!
This is the typical procedure. They will need to see the KK to issue a KTP because the address on your KTP is linked to your residential address as stated on your KK. This principle also applies to local people. About SIM it is exaggerated. What about if the person does not have a driving licence because they do not need it??

Ha - not in Bali! New regulation says 400k+ per year for foreigner to have KTP! What kinda BS is that?! And pay for KK change as well. But they can't show me where the regulation is posted...
Per year? For KTP? So, every year one has to pay 400k?

Not sure I follow. Bc the permit # of my KITAP changes every 5 years that means I need a new KK every 5 years regardless of where I live. Not something WNA needs to do. And what do you mean about the SIM being exaggerated?

Yes - and for the duration of the KTAP—so that's 2j.
The KTP expiration date should match your KITAP expiration, so on first KITAP you should get a KTP with 5 years validity. Then, when you extend you KITAP you get a lifetime KITAP, and your new KTP should be issued for life (just as WNI get).

I am skeptical there is actually a local regulation imposing fees, but even if there is, they must follow national law and issue the KTP for the length of the stay permit, they can't make you come back for a new one every year.

Undang-Undang (highest level law) No. 24 Tahun 2013

Pasal 64, Ayat 7:
(7) KTP-el untuk:
a. Warga Negara Indonesia masa berlakunya seumur hidup; dan
b. Orang Asing masa berlakunya disesuaikan dengan masa berlaku Izin Tinggal Tetap.
Translated; For Foreigners the validity period is adjusted to the validity period of the Permanent Stay Permit.

Perhaps it should but it isn’t. And soon I will get the baby pink one, probably for another 5 years.

Yes - there is a 'lapor' date which is ultimately the same as expiry except you won't pay again - only for new KK, KTP and SIM every 5 years.

Looks good on paper - but not the case is reality. Every 5 years - a new KITAP Permit No which means a new KK, new KTP and new SIM. Great time for collection of all kinds of...

Yes, still pink KTP-OA, but the law is clear that it should be issued for the same 'masa berlaku' as your stay permit. If your KITAP says "seumur hidup", so should your KTP.

I haven't reached my lifetime KITAP yet and don't recall seeing an example. If under "masa berlaku" it says "lapor [tanggal]" then I suppose that is fair and falls in line with the UU. Still, it definitley should clearly not be every year as you have previously stated.

Unfortunately, the KITAP says "Date to Report" which is 5 years later.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The KITAP SH has a 'report date' of 5 yrs from issue. The KTP interprets this as an expiry date and is issued as thus. IN BALI, CAPIL says 400k for EVERY YEAR of the KTP - so 2 juta for 5 yr KTP. Plus 450k for the new KK needed bc of permit no change. I would have to go thru this every 5 yrs.

You need to go back to the main purpose of having the KK and KTP. Whether some people find it impractical or disagree with the process is not the point.

Having said that, some Indonesians, especially younger people without families, students, or those working or studying in other cities, often do not bother updating the address on their KTP or KK. Their address remains linked to their home-town and their parents' address. But keep in mind they are not foreigners, they have less restriction and supervision in their movements.

Regarding the SIM, I assume you are referring to the Indonesian driving licence e.g "Surat Ijin Mengemudi" and as I have mentioned my reason on the previous post.

Ok - guess I understand! However my question was to those WNA that have KITAP Seumur Hidup and if, in their experience, the 5-year lapor procedure includes the need for new KK/KTP and SIM (if one is a driver obviously) every 5 years?

The kk and ktp in bali catsip sempidi is free for kitap holders .

The difference between Gianyar and Badung...sigh. My husband was able to get them down to 400k for both.
If your husband was able to talk them down that further reinforces that this is not a legitimate fee.

Show them UU No. 24 Tahun 2013, Pasal 79A and 95B

Pasal 79A

No fees allowed! An official that tries to charge a fee can be thrown in jail for 6 years and fined 75 million.
