Lupis, cenil and liquid palm sugar caramel!
An old lady in jarit and kebaya in traditional market, pulled out a piece of thread out from her green kemben and used it to cut kue lupis. She casually rolled it back into her kemben when she finished cutting (I thought the thread was kind of a secret weapon), received the money and kept it under her black bra string. Childhood memory.

on that note- un flavoured dental floss is great for cutting cheese.
(not used for flossing teeth in advance tho- cos that would be too gross...
...
which leads my memory back to a guy I used to know- a vile and angry man- but he used to make curries for my colleagues- he would chew the lemon and then spit it in the pot along with a healthy gob full of phlegm [barf] then cook it up and send it off... needless to say I never ate any of it.

would it be mean of me to admit to not telling my colleagues about this either.)

Yeah, old ladies with Jarik in the pasar didn't have the habit of carrying a purse, so money went into the bra. At least you didn't receive sweaty change...

Hahaha Nimbus, I put money from traditional market in a certain purse so they can have their calm, humid and private life.

I will never see curry the same way again...

Went to Bebek Petit Sawah near Ubud recently. Frankly I didn't think the duck was all that it was quacked up to be. Fortunately someone else got the bill.
