The hottest news right now in Indonesia about Indonesia???? This is beyond a gross exaggeration, not to say a silly one.

Since you take the article on tribunnews you perhaps could have check their video too. 11.500 views, 150 comment in 2 days. Super hot bro!

Regular national medias have given just a few line to the news, nothing more than it's worth, considering much more serious stuff are happening in Ukraine at the moment.

Also do you have any idea about what represent in proportion, batalyon Azov within the Ukrainian army? If you don't know, it's about 4.000 soldiers in an army of about 250.000 soldiers in a country of about 44 millions people.

Yes, batalyon Azov is bad, really bad, and has been involved in human rights violations and probably war crimes but it doesn't define the Ukrainian army nor the people of Ukraine.

Neonazism is unfortunately rampant in Europe, including in Eastern Europe and Russia. The Russian National Unity group of Alexander Barkashov claims having over 100.000 members in Russia, yet it doesn't define Russia nor Russians.

We often denigrate Indonesia about racism directed to black skin people. I think being black in Indonesia, you would receive a much better treatment than being black in Ukraine or Russia. When I was a student I had friends from Africa who had been student in Moscow and St Petersburg. They told me they had to go through almost daily humiliation and racial abuses due to their skin color, and I had similar report from Blacks having been student in Eastern Europe. It is most certainly not the fact of a majority, but it's probably easier to be Christian, white and blond in this part of the world than being black and Muslim.
I have to say, from my work in eastern europe ,starting around 20 years ago, I found the polish people quite racist , there was almost no blacks or coloureds seen ,in my work and travels around the country .
Happily they are now welcoming the Ukranian refugees , but I notice they are treating the black and coloured students trying to get out, very badly .

Considering the poles are such big catholics ,they have forgotten the the tenets of their collective faith ,very sad .

I say "the hottest news right now in Indonesia about Ukraine", not about other news but Ukraine only.

Actually, it's easy to check, just Google "Azov Muslim" and you get this list of sources (in alphabetical order);

  • Detik.com
  • Frekuensinews.com
  • Harian Surya
  • Kompas.com
  • Kumparan.com
  • OkeZone.com
  • Pikiran-rakyat.com
  • PojokSatu.id
  • RadarSukabumi.com
  • SindoNews.com
  • Suara.com
  • Sukabumiupdate.com
  • Tempo.co
  • Telisik.id
  • Tribun
  • Vice.com
That's not all, I gave up after page 3. You see, it's all over (in Indonesian media).

It's in Al Jazeera (English) too.

Indian students in Ukraine beaten by military on the border, is it because India abstained in the UNSC vote?

Why this happened? Ukraine is supposed to be a ‘civilized’ (as opposed to Iraq and Afghanistan) according to this American reporter.

The fact that it is quoted in X number of news media doesn't make it the hottest about Ukraine, as per your claim. Kompas wrote 1 (one) article about it two days ago and the meantime several others about the war in Ukraine, as all the source you quoted did.
1 article and it becomes the hottest news about Ukraine for you??? What a joke, if it weren't about a very sad topic.
Please keep digging. For a good laugh, tell us how you have done to reach the conclusion and claim it was "the hottest news right now in Indonesia about Ukraine". Every body from Sabang to Merauke is commenting it, taking outrage, tweeting and retweeting it, talking about joining a demo, etc... No. Surprised?
Today only, Kompas has several articles related to Ukraine, but none about Azov. Oh no, sorry there is 1 article mentioning Azov... Laut Azov that is... not pasukan Azov. Talk about being a hot topic in the war of Ukraine. :ROFLMAO:

For your first question, there is a hint in one my above post: Racism is quite common in Eastern Europe and Russia. There are a bunch of articles about black student having been abused during their exode out of Ukraine. As I said earlier, in eastern Europe and Russia it is much easier to be Christian, White and Blond.

And for the record, Charlie D'agata, the CBS foreign correspondent of your video has been widely condemned for his racist comment. He later apologized publicly and call them a "poor choice of words".

That article was taken from Vice Indonesia who failed to explain that the Azov were only 900 strong and badically outcast from Ukraines standpoint.

I did learn something new. Evidently Geopolitical Analyst don't mind sharing inacurate news to enable a large group to be offended.

Are you accusing me of sharing inaccurate news to offend a “large group”? Why would I do that? Who wants to be a pariah? And look who’s sharing “inaccurate” news? You said “Azov were only 900 strong and outcast from Ukrainian standpoint”, this is completely false, as Atlantis pointed out on post #140, they are 'about 4.000 strong'. And they aren’t outcast, their regiment is officially a unit of the National Guard. Probably the only country in the world which has a military unit composed of neo-Nazis.

Either your source of media is unreliable or full of Western propaganda, or you are lying through your teeth.

In any case, below video exposes the double standard behind the war.

First of all, I don't tweet, so no idea.

Secondly, it was picked up by many local news media. If that doesn't count, fine.

But let's see in the next few days... some just published the article today. And don't forget the Islamic religious sites, don't underestimate their reach.

Ah ok. It was a claim by anticipation then... a perhaps, maybe, probably. conceivably, feasably, it could be... the hottest news right now in Indonesia about Ukraine tomorrow, in a few days, sometimes....

Thanks to have confirmed it was a baseless claim.

Keep us informed if the underestimated Islamic religious sites launch a dreadful jihad against Ukraine.

It seems the hottest news is just about to be Energodar, the sirens are going , the Russians are upon it, shells flying towards it and the people filming it said it would be a catastrophe for Europe.

There has been a large civilian blockade trying to prevent the Russians from accessing the nuclear plant.

If you're so concerned about neo-Nazis, you should look up the Wagner Group and their founder Dmitry Utkin.
A look at the human rights record of the Kadyrovtsky, officially a Chechen legal law enforcement unit under the control of the Russian Ministry of Internal affair, would also show an appalling record of Human Right abuses and war crimes. Whoever wants to paint in black the Ukrainian army should perhaps better make sure that the other side doesn't have an even darker record.
The Kadyrovtsky are by the way fighting alongside the regular Russian army in Ukraine at the moment.

For those who want to keep up with events and not wait for the snail paced large news agencies to catch up, I have quite a few people I follow - some are blue tick journalists and many are on the ground in Ukraine; they all provide their particular view of what is happening there:

Obviously https://twitter.com/nexta_tv - News agency for the region
https://twitter.com/ronzheimer - I think a German journalist
https://twitter.com/strategywoman - an ordinary woman who keeps a journal online of life in the war
https://twitter.com/KyivIndependent - news agency
https://twitter.com/IAPonomarenko - reporter with Kyiv Independent
https://twitter.com/Hromadske - news agency
https://twitter.com/OzKaterji - freelance journalist
https://twitter.com/ChristopherJM - journalist
https://twitter.com/UAWeapons - tries to keep track of weapons lost by Russia to Ukraine forces
https://twitter.com/ZelenskyyUa - Zelensky's official account

By all means add to this list as I haven't got everyone.

I find it very interesting to see what is going on and hear the voices of the ordinary people - the primary sources of what is a major historical & world changing event.

It's hard just sitting around and seeing what is happening to the whole of Ukraine. You keep wondering, can someone help to change what is surely going to happen to them? Russia has another nation join them, Belarus, why can't another country join Ukraine? Why can't the EU help under their flag and not the NATO flag?

People are saying WWIII will happen if someone helps. Doesn't it seem that Putin is going for that any way? Wouldn't removing putin basically be and end to WWIII?

There just has to be something to stop all the killing of inocent civilians besides total surrender which russia is demanding. This has gone on long enough. Anyone in this forum who has experienced war can understand some of what these people are facing. Only some unless you were involved in a war where war crimes were the norm. Those that haven't will never know the horrors it brings and that includes a couple of posters here. The sounds of the attacks bring back terrible memories because when you heard those sounds before you didn't know if you were going to be at the landing point. These people in Ukraine are some if the bravest heros there has ever been on Earth. Heros be the man, woman, or child who face a monster every minute while being totally scared close to death. Even when this ends the lasting impact will be with them for a lifetime.

When it gets overwhelming like this for us as individuals, we can ask- "What can I do to help?"
and even the little bits mean something to someone, people just following and commenting support on the posts of a Ukraine housewife on Twitter has helped her to deal with the stress a little- is it enough? No by far & away it is not- if Ukraine refugees were coming to RI, I would certainly be offering up a room or two for them. I am merely doing what little I can.
What else we can do is to donate cash to support channels. I am less in favour of donating goods (my cousin is collecting in the UK for shipping to UA) it just seems a logistical nightmare when cash can be transferred more easily & essential goods bought much closer

For those interested in aerial warfare this is an interesting video...
** Do please note that it is in a thread that does show other videos that are not suitable for general consumption. However it does give you a warning - you have to elect to watch the more disturbing videos.

(I actually make myself watch these videos because I believe we have to know the horrors of war and see what the people on the ground see, to keep the saner amongst us from glorifying events and thinking wars are the answer.
No matter what flag these boys are fighting under - most of them are poorly paid kids fed the ideals of rich people & sent off to their deaths, they deserve at least a moment's thought and sadness at their horrific passing.

I apologise that I cannot get the video addy of just the aerial dog-fight on its own !

I understand all that and can say that I have donated sone cash and do follow a number in twitter and try to give understanding support to them. That all said, none of that is going to stop the criminal murdering putin from taking over Ukraine at any cost. That will take powers bigger than donations and written support individuals can offer.

Indeed it will take a lot, but even our small bits are something.
...
I have been playing a weird little game with myself today... "What would I do now, if I was China?" Trying to be as objective as possible with my answers... here is where I am at:
Sit back & wait until Russia has Ukraine under control (if it ever happens) and then slide in and control a severely weakened Russia & move my borders significantly westwards.
