Vaccine effectiveness and Herd Immunity

The vaccine does NOT protect you from catching the virus and testing positive, it protects you (in most cases) from getting critically ill.
From that study, the vaccinated workers had a cumulative 00.73% percent chance of getting the disease over the course of five months. The unvaccinated workers, on the other hand, had a cumulative 03.61% chance of getting the disease over the course of five months. That's about five times as likely to get the disease if you are unvaccinated. In no way does this prove your point, rather the opposite.

Wrong. My point was about catching the virus, being positive. Concerning the vaccine avoiding falling severely ill I confirmed it.
The point is NOT about ratio of vaccinated falling severely ill vs non vaccinated. That the vaccine protects from severe ilness (in most cases) is a proven

Scare tactics, way to gain control while slowly stripping people of their right without them knowing/making it look like it is for the better good of society/the end times for different religions.
Curiously the same group who opposes vaccine passports supports the de facto National ID in USA through the REAL ID Act, as part of the Patriot Act.

The terrorists killed 2,977 people in the two towers, and in response the government instituted far-reaching surveillance and restrictions in the form of the Patriot Act, not to mention $2.2 trillion spent and more than 4,400 soldiers killed in 20-year wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Covid killed 705,000 people, and trumpers complain about masks and vaccine cards.

If it’s my privacy and my ability to transmit diseases to others then it’s about personal liberty, if it’s a bunch of brown people’s status then it’s about national security.

If it’s about a pregnant woman who doesn’t affect others, then government restrictions are ok. If it’s about a disease that I may pass on to others, then government restrictions are not ok.

Still wrong. Between March and June unvaccinated people were 4-5 times more likely to catch Covid. In July the number changed drastically, and the paper says it’s likely due to the Delta variant and the end of mask mandate in California. The paper is the strongest advocate to date for a booster shot.

An abortion doesn't effect the unborn child?

Who said I was a Tumper? I was Trump over Hillary, but I am an independent and TNM so my vote does count for shit.

An embryo is not a child, just like my sperm and her egg. Otherwise men are committing genocide by killing 200 to 500 million sperm every time they masturbate.

Obviously there is a point where it becomes a viable baby, but the pro-birth (not pro-life) folks is only interested in banning all abortions.

Trump and abortion....
A bit off topic I think ?
It’s related because anti vaxxers are using the “my body my choice” argument typically used by advocates of women reproductive rights. If women have the right to abortion because it’s their body, then people refusing vaccines are supposedly protected from legal consequences too. They even try to extend it to the freedom of not wearing a mask.

Pathetic...

Looks like more ammunition for booster shots.
How do you figure? The results are completely inline with other studies that have come out over the past couple months showing that protection against severe disease and death remain very high for at least 6 months. The CDC and other health authorities have used this as evidence that boosters are not needed (yet) for the general population.

How do you not figure? Straight from the article "These findings suggest that a large proportion of the vaccinated population could lose its protection against infection in the coming months." The issue is that the vaccine efficiency is dropping off fast compared to mumps, measles, and rubella vaccines which only drop 5 to 10 percent per year. Pfizer is seeing is major drop in as little as 2 months and dropping off almost completely in as little as 6 months. Why would you not need another shot if the last one is not effective any more? Just like vaccinations started with the elderly and at risk, the booster shots are following the same beginnings.

* NOTE I would also like to note that this article has been edited since it's original posting (which seems to be common with an article that is even remotely critical of the vaccination). I wonder why that is? The article headline was originally "Pfizer's COVID -19 immunity protection diminishes after 2 months and can reach as low as 20% after 4 months" and is still book marked with that headline in my browser but they changed the headline and edited some of the wording that went into more details about the percentage drop off rate.

Protection against infection and protection against hospitalization and death are two very different standards. Since it is still doing well at both, and extremely well at the latter, for more than 6 months, the CDC has only recommended boosters for at-risk populations. This even came in opposition to political pressure from Biden's public statement for boosters to be available for all adults.

I opposed the vaccine mandate for these reasons :
1. Does not protect you from getting the virus
2. Does not protect you from death or critically ill. When they say it prevent you to get critically ill .. there are millions asymptotic patients even without the vaccine. So we never know.
3. Too many side effects
4. Not enough data for long term side effects

I had a complete dose of covid vaccine, the only reason why I got them because everyone are getting it. So if in 5 years we all turn into mermaids.. well I don't want to be the only one that can't breathe under the water... :p

You either can't do a basic internet search or aren't able to process simple information. Imagine having access to almost the entirety of human knowledge at your fingertips via the internet and still thinking this. :ROFLMAO:

Let me try your "logic": When they say condoms prevent pregnancy...millions of people have sex every day that don't get pregnant without condoms. So we never know.

Never change @Missnaughty.

We have vaccine all of our live. Have you ever tested positive of TBC after BCG vaccine? Or have you seen kids with Rubella after MMR Vaccine? Now did you try to google and search how many people got sick after vaccine and some died? Did you check the hospitalization rate in Singapore for example after vaccine?

Condom prevent 99% pregnancy and if there were cases of pregnancy mostly because of "kondom bocor". And you can see clearly how it works. Common sense.

btw you should try my logic with pil kb instead of condom. again I dont take pil KB as I never know whether it works or not.. same logic as this vaccine. Many friends got pregnancy accident. :))

With vaccine, it works "magically" inside our body, how would we know that vaccine works if majority of people are having mild symptoms or asymptotic even without vaccine?

Dont make it a mandate if there is no 100% guarantee. This is my point.
